the poorest town in the nation

I'm proud of my home town Lake providence Louisiana. Despite how people say LP is the poorest town in the nation I disagree with that. LP is on thr rise because God is hearing the prayers of the faithful ones. LP may be poor in the sight of many but in the sight of God LP is rich in Spirit. LP have saints of God who don't mind standing up for what is right. Yes jobs are few, yes drugs are on the up rise, yes teenagers are out of control, political views are not heard. I beleive there are Hope in a Time of Sorrow. A people starting over need to know God's promises. Lake Providence, worshiping God is the foundation to shame the enemies. David emphasized worship as the foundation of Israel. As soon as he conquered Jerusalem, he brought the ark of the covenant there. He made preparations to build the temple and organized the priests and Levites to serve there. He established large corps of musicians to praise God. In response, God promised that a line of leaders would descend from him. I'm trusting God 2010 is the year for LP. LP have the saints, the spiritual leaders, and the resources necessary to rise again, to be God's people in God's land. Most important, they have God. LP can find strength in worshiping God. Yes we can.

i grew up in Lake Providence in the sixties,on the weekends you couldn't find a pariing space, the dairy queen was the (hang out)and Whites restruant
was the spot where the parties were WHAT HAPPENED?
About a year age I went to my home town, it was about 6 PM, I thought i was the omega man there was not 1 car on main street, there were two at Minskys drug, and that was it. I saddens me to see a place in my memory as a place of fun and excitement to die. May God be with those that still live there.

I graduated from GW Griffin High School in LP in 1965 and still have family in LP. I love the place and visit my father at least once a year. The drug problem has added to the proverty problem. There are some very good people living in LP, and I see some progress. Let us continue to pray for our Hometown
