I am quite fed up with racism in this town! Not only do we have these rediculous fliers about the KKK circulating in our own front yards, but I can't even go to McDonald's and ask for a cheeseburger without being treated like a lesser person. Any idea if I am white or black? Nope, didn't think so because I am not a racist person and to see either the white folks rallying against other races or to see the black folks treating white people like trash, it ALL makes me sick! When are we all going to realize we all bleed red? We all answer to the same God in the end?

I see you're still at it!?
Now it's Church's Chicken?
You complain about "Burger Joints", then you desire more grease pits like Church's Chicken... why don't you suggest a Pitt Grill too? Jefferson has plenty of great restaurants to experience, as long as you're not accustomed to poor man's food. Go brush your teeth (if you have any) & put on your best Sunday blue jeans, then try some of the restaurants beyond Hwy 59 in the downtown area.

yes, you did offend someone(s) but the sad part is you seem to be oblivious how and why you did it....to me you are the worst kind of racist..I have more respect for those racist who come out and say they then those who are racist and pretend they are not....

What Jefferson needs is more intelligent foresight.
The goal here is to enjoy what we have in our own backyard and stimulate our own economy.
As stated on th Chamber's website;
"Jefferson has become a community with a high quality of life. Tourists come to Jefferson seeking the ambience, relaxation and activities which are provided here. Jefferson boasts many bed and breakfast inns, restaurants, places of entertainment and shops. There are boat rides on Big Cypress Bayou and Caddo Lake, wagon and surrey rides, rides on a steam driven railroad train and tours of historic homes. New residents from across the United States have chosen Jefferson for their home because it is an open, friendly community where people from diverse places and backgrounds feel comfortable in a progressive setting. One of the most common statements from those who have experienced Jefferson is "Jefferson is a magical place and a town that time forgot."

This being said, Jefferson certainly doesn't need a bunch of 'other side of the railroad track' trash hanging out in places like Churches Chicken or Huddle House. We all know there's enough of that there already. It is very unbecoming and tends to cause decent folks to shy away. Progress is great as long as we retain the ambience of the town. We don't need motels and fast food. What we do need is direction aimed at quality and hospitality.

Okay... just about anyone west of Tuttle or north of Watson within the inner city. If you are familiar with the area, you know exactly the people I'm speaking of.

My 'Idealism' is based on human truth... not white myths, black myths or any other predisposed belief system. A conservative view in my case is recognizing what the causes and effects are. In this cause I am noting the underlying dreggs that hold back or tear down progress. Like I said earlier, anyone who can get excited about a Churches Chicken or a Motel 8 is definitely living in a very small world and maintaining a very small IQ. Trash attracts trash!

that was the most eloquent way to say a lot of crap!!!

For some people that are struggling with money and affordability then churches chicken is fine its cheap and quick and to many that is their world

A Motel 8 is not the Mansion at the MGM Grand, but its affordable and people from around the area can afford to come and stay and enjoy Jefferson and what the city has to offer...

those places are not trash....and it has nothing to do with a person IQ...You seem to have an normal IQ and look at you just wrote..it was not very smart.

by the way,'Idealism' is based on human truth makes no sense really...for that to be true human truth would have to be defined and its not. in other words what is human truth...that's just double talk that says nothing...but i am open to hear what you define as human truth

it is defines by some

Human truth is the essential truth about humanity, from the state of the individual mind to that of the world.

Daily Horoscope for December 20

Cancer

If you thought yesterday was fraught with tension the temperature rises a few notches again today, as Mars turns retro in your house of finances and values. What's eating you? Maybe you're annoyed because your spare time is being eroded by duties that are weighing heavily on your shoulders. You might also be miffed by the flippant attitude of a certain person who you think should be taking life a lot more seriously. Calm down or you'll blow a gasket.
