Is it a decent & reasonably safe place for kids to go on the weekends?

In my own eyes I have seen multiple young girls dressed very erotic for their age. But that just may be me. And also the parking is horrible, But on the other hand I have heard that the owners are really great, they make sure everything runs smooth and try to keep the violence such as fighting, in control!!

You know if the kids and teens had more to do around here there would probably be less trouble..

In order for things to stay in this town, more than just two people have to be encountered with the entertainment or activity.

There is just too much "I like it the way it used to be" and "it was good enough for me" mentality in this county to make anything good for kids. There are a couple of great religious organizations for teens, but that's a once a week thing. The other frustating thing in this town, that I've seen time and time again since moving here, is that no one will support faithfully a new business that tries here. They're either set in their ways or just don't get excited about new business. I'm not sure. We've had several restaurants, etc try and fail and it wasn't all due to bad food or concepts. Just lack of support. I know I don't have the money, who does these days, to start a business. But I would have to worry about support in this town. I don't skate, but I support them in heart and encourage them to keep up the effort. At least it is something.

I agree with you Mr. Me - I remember when Timberloft finally got approved for Liquor by the drink. Their business fell off on the weekend. People in Town were saying they wouldn't go to the Loft because they served Liquor but that same person would be seen at O'Charly's in Lebanon.
Now they serve Booze too but they would rather go there and have a beer than support local business.
Crazy I doubt I would know you cause you probably haven't done anything that you alleged.

The Timberloft really lost more business when they stopped the foodbar and seafood night than the liquor by the drink issue, lots of people from out of town still come. Besides .. the kids in the county deserve more than they're getting. The skating rink can't help the way kids are allowed to dress unless they post a dress code and how legal is that? Parents should be doing a better job of parenting, schools aren't required to teach morals, it's up to parents and that my friends is a frightening thought.

Happy J skating Rink does have a posted dress code. I think that they are trying very hard to run a decent place, but parents should not drop their kids off and leave. Parents should help supervise. They are not babysitters. I went there as a child and my son is looking forward to going there for his 6th birthday!

I have also tried to find things to fill the time of my teenage daughter and her friends. I went to the extreme of taking them (A group of about nine, at my expense) to differant cities over the past summers focusing on education and fun, such as Six Flags Over Georgia but also went to the Coca Cola Company and Art Exhibit. I stressed the importance of college when I was with them, talked about ually transmitted diseases (I'm a nurse now after ending a decade around politics), tried to have open communication in the group so I could steer them clear of trouble if I could.

It's been five years since I started doing this and my group of nine have grown up (or they think they have) and much to my dismay, several ended up arrested before reaching 18, two married with at least one child, and the list goes on.

I'm not particulary a fan of Hilary Clinton but it does take a village.

There isnt anywhere safe for your kids anymore. Keep them at home where you can keep an eye on them. Thats the whole problem now days. They dont watch their children.

Your imagination is working well today and ready to take off on flights of fancy. A little daydreaming will lead to some inspired ideas, as will discussing your thoughts with someone who's on the same wavelength as you. Speaking of wavelengths, you could have a telepathic experience now that defies explanation.
