IT WASNT THE DEPUTIES WHO HANDLE THE SITUATION , IT WAS THE HWY PATROL WHO CAUGHT THE GUY, OR DID YOU HUBBY TELL YOU SOMETHING DIFFERENT?MY POINT IS, ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS SIT BACK AND WATCH AND SEE FOR YOUR SELF, IF THE COPS AROUND HERE ARE NOT SCARED TO BE ON THE ROAD, WHY DO THEY TRAVEL 3 CARS AT A TIME IN A ROW TO EVERY CALL? I CAN UNDERSTAND A HEATED DOMESTIC, BUT WHAT ABOUT EVERY CALL 3 CARS SHOW UP, THAT TELLS THE PUBLIC SOMETHING, SMITH COUNTY COULD SAVE A LOT OF FUEL MONEY IF THE WOULD BUY EACH SHIFT A MIN-VAN SO THEY COULD ALL RIDE TOGETHER, AND IF YOU WOULD ADMIT IT, YOU WOULD SAY THE SAME. Totally in agreement. If we can send 3,4 & 5 squad cars to a guy getting pulled over for a simple speeding infraction (I've seen that numerous times) then there are wayyy to many cops with wayyyyy to much time on their hands on the payroll.

I would like to apply for a position but they are so over staffed right now they dont have any openings. Thanks to them keeping some none certs on the road making over 18 an hours. Right Mike and Keith. There are some good deputys out there just some get carried away sometimes but if you had to deal with some of the Smith County finest you would understand. Point is they are over paying the non certs and not paying the cert officers. Ronnie will not be getting my vote

Tennessee Expat, it seems you have too many cops until you need them, then you don't have enough. One thing they could be doing while they are sitting there thinking about what they are going to do tonight is study the county maps. Too many of them don't know where they are going when they are called on an emergency. And I know what I'm talking about.

I do too!!! ;) Got a card from one of them with his name on the back and a phone number. All because of a traffic stop. What is that number 1-800-TBI-FIND.... Think they will talk to me? I'm not going to add to the bashing, but anyone with any honesty and a set of eyes can see 3 cars every time a call goes out. I have truly wondered if it's just because it's an opportunity to run those cars real fast. Weeeeee.
And whoever stated that you should go talk to one of these officers with your points? Do you live here? Or have you ever lived in any small town?
Try to complain about anything and see how far that gets you. I tried that with the wonderful garbage service we have in Carthage. Nothing.

Well I think this is alot off topic but I do have a comment on the Dillard household..... I knew Ronnie quite well and considered him a very good friend. He was one of the best men I ever met and he worshipped the ground she walked on. He worked about 4 different jobs to keep her and those kids living the good life. She worked hard too i guess, running that daycare, but he even spent alot of his free time (if he had any) helping her in the daycare.
As far as her being "ugly", physical beauty is only skin deep. Your actions speak louder than physical appearance.
I guess after all is said and done its none of my business what she does but, in my opinion, if she has remarried its WAY to soon if she loved him as much as he deserved. He was a VERY good man and his memory should have been held closer to her heart than that and should have sustained her through a tough period in her life. I know its held close to mine.
Rest in peace my dear friend.

Maybe we judge her to harshly? I don't know how I would react if I lost my spouse so abruptly, but I would LIKE to think that I could wait more than a few months to start dating. And Im pretty sure it would be alot longer than that to remarry, if I did at all. I wonder though, now that he is gone if she realizes what a good husband she had?
I guess I wont comment any further on this, though I do find it so hard to understand.
