If you ever needed another reason why Ft. Drum needs to be shut down and the entire chain of command from the commanding general on down need to be jailed, then I'd really like to hear it.......

Wow just think of the amount of jobs lost if they closed the post down? The amount of money lost because of all the houses that would no longer be rented? The schools would lose money because the Army pays for military children to attend and lets not forget all the other concerts and things that come on post and they allow everyone to attend. Lets not forget the money that is lost by the local doctors and dentist because they will no longer have those patients coming in. Yeah lets close post because of the druggies and drunks. Now ask yourself what would happen to the local economy with out Drum? Yes the Army needs to really crack down on the losers but you have alot of good people on that post as well and those people spend their hard earned money in Watertown and surrounding areas.

Does it matter Mona? The fact is that the majority of the young soldiers stationed at Ft. Drum, or anywhere in the military for that matter, were given the choice by a judge to either join up or go to jail. Presumably after committing a crime or series of them. Were you in town about 6 years ago? It was nice, very little crime committed by soldiers, the blacks from NYC haven't moved up here in full force to sell their drugs to army wives, rape and commit crimes day and night. It was a nice place to live, now its getting bad, and although I am not militaty I will be finding a new place to relocate to soon.

Now that you mention it, you are right. We were stationed up here about 10 years ago, it was a white town, people were friendly, and everything was great. We come back and it looks like a failed welfare experiment. I agree that the problem in Watertown is the black population. Have you seen newzjunky? Looked at the mugshots? Guess what 95% black. Get rid of the blacks, and get rid of the crime.

You know, if you're more comfortable in a white town, move to Harrisville. They're still as backwoods now as they've been 10, 20, 30 years ago. No offense to the town, it just is what it is. I'm from there, my family's from there, if you're from there, too, you know what i'm talking about. I remember once upon a time in the 80's a black family moved in. After a month, GONE. There may be a couple there now, its been years, but i'd be surprised. If you want to get away from the drugs, you might want to go back under that rock you crawled out of, because unfortunately, as long as theres a human race, there will be drugs, regardless of what color skin the dealer has. There's always been a drug problem up here. People just knew how to keep their mouths shut and take care of their own problems without involving the law.

I have been here since 1996 and have seen the place change. It is definitely better now than it was then. Crime has gone up because our population has gone up. It is called logic. The race issue is ridiculous. Most of the blacks are in the military because they wanted a better life for their families THAT THEY NEVER HAD. Biggest drug dealers around here are not black just a piece of info for you. And yes i would know. I bet you religion has been the cause for more deaths than drugs and murder combined.
