I got the wrong Morristown but the right topic!

Unfair trade and cheap labor outsourcing is destroying the middle class. Each plant closing brings us closer to the end of the American Dream. Lets not forget with the loss of good jobs comes the loss of benefits!

i worked at the morristown indiana plant for 13 years the last 2 , it seemed a goal to management to make us fail. i couldnt understand thier choices at the time but in hind sight it all makes sence. seems to me someone at corporate wanted us shut down . management ran us right into the ground!

I worked at the Morristown for 16 years and they kept us in the dark on alot of things. We didn't even get a severence package and I believe the company knew for a long time it was closing and did nothing to try to stop it. Alot of good people are out of a job now or making alot less and struggling to make ends meet. It's like they didn't care anymore. It is the fault of having wrong personel in management making decisions. They chose poorly on several things and didn't inform us of much at all.

I worked at the Morristown plant for 16 years. We was left in the dark on alot. No one tried saving the company. It was like they didn't care. Having wrong people in management destroyed our jobs. They didn't give us any severence either. I think they knew the plant was closing long before they told us. They didn't want to save the company!!

To bad you dont know what you are talking about. The closing of Morristown was way out of Morristown's hands. We were showing corporate better numbers than some of the plants that are staying open. I think your right that corporate had decided our fate long before they made it official, and hourly was informed right after management was.

glad you think we was informed after management but if you worked there and went to town hall meetings you couldve seen they wasnt telling us everything they knew. they held back alot and did nothing for us at the end but gave us our "last supper" so to speak. all the hard work we did for nothing in return. we shouldve atleast got a severence package. alot of people are struggling now and many without jobs waiting on the TAA program and thats not even moving fast. we got the shaft bad!!!!

Former employee of C&a.How to shut down a plant, You get a few uneducated, eager beavers, Who are clueless,Give them some emportant contracts, That you know they will screw up, Offer them a large severance package and employment in other plants when plant is closed, Does this sound familiar. With any idiot running it Morristown plant should have been successful. The only losers the workers???

Auction for Morristown is June 12th at 10:00 if anyone is interested. There are still as many as 6 cars in the lot daily still drawing a check even though the last part was made months ago.

Theres alot of people we can blame for us not having a job but its the management teams fault and corporate. However for those of us who was entitled to vacation pay and severance packages which we didn't receive we have our wonderful UAW union to thank for that. They should of fought for all this for us but they didn't. After all we did work there the last 2 years without a raise. It makes you wonder why we paid union dues all that time??????? They made sure we went out with nothing. So thanks to uaw for making sure that collins Aikman didn't give us anything for hard work and time away from our familys. While we worked our 12 hours a day 7 days oh and the over and earlys.
The least they could of done pay those who worked there hours according to (union book) there vacation pay thats something we earned and entitled to by the Indiana Labor laws under vacation pay.

As with the warnings I can tell you whos cars those were there after the last part was made, someone had to move out the equippment and stuff after it was all over and prepare for the auction, my new company bought the robot off of SP0 but aren't to happy it is an antique but got it cheap for there new 2008 880 Cincinatti Milacron, as for the cars, those people were Union brothers (well not all of them but 4 or 5 were, should have been more cars actually by the numbers I got with who was remaining) until the last part was made then they became contracted for a short time after to move it all out.

I agree with you big time on the UAW screwing y'all out of your vacation pay, y'all had your time in and should have gotten that, I think that was our local managment that did that one, don't even think it made it to a Bankrupcy Judge, don't want to point any fingers at Mike Leland but what the hell.
