Just read the update and was there a robbery in torrance or carson that led up to that shooting wow can you imagine .

Where does it say Torrance? You just made that up so you could relay some sarcasm for some unknown reason to a factual story. That area is actually L.A. County regulated, so that illegals and gang member's families can have a Torrance mailing address.

It bothers me that the city of Torrance is always trying to protect their name & Daily Breeze will do the same to keep Torrance name out of the papers when incidents like this happen. 1000 Milton Street IS Torrance and NOT Carson! The robbery apparently took place at Alpine Village (which is Torrance. Look at Mapquest and you'll see where Milton street is. Carson boundaries starts at Figueroa and goes eastward. Anything west of Figueroa is Torrance PO or Harbor Gateway. Milton Street is West of Figueroa therefore it's Torrance, people! The only reason why I would suspect it's assumed the location is Carson is b/c the Sheriff's dept was involved and they are the ones that covers LA area? Had Torrance PD been involved, then it would've been looked at differently? Arrgh. How frustrating!

Why doesn't the Breeze say the crime occurred in an unincorporated area east of Torrance rather west of Carson? I urge all Carson residents to complain to the editor and to consider a boycott of the Breeze for its unfair smearing of Carson.

pubic records states the city is torrance- there is no such city called near carson , west carson, west of carson, by carson or harbor gateway.

According to maps and public records, this is an unincorporated area of Los Angeles County. It has no name, but the closest city is Carson, which is immediately to the east.

(As an aside, Harbor Gateway, which is indeed a recognized area of Los Angeles and noted as such in a Thomas Guide, falls between Western and Normandie avenues, immediately west of the area where this incident occurred.)

you are close..but the LA CITY strip is what allows the city to maintain port control...not LA County boundaries. T-Flats is county..hence LA Sheriffs' jurisdiction

Does it Matter? Nope. We have people out there shooting at a Helicopter, that seems to be a bigger problem than where it actually happened.

Amazing how some brains get bifurcated away from the main topic. A sheriff's helicopter was fired upon, probably by gangsters.

Focus people. This serious felony must be solved and those found guilty sent to prison for attempted murder.

Gangsters are all losers and low, scum life. There are no winners in that choice. They will all either die or rot away in prison.

Thank God our deputies were not injured.

Well for all to know that the carson sheriffs and the LAPD both patrol that area so whether it was torrane or carson its the same. I don't believe that all gang members are lowlife or scum and I don't think that they should rot in prison. Everyone makes there own decisions in life and i know many gang members that have made something of there lifes and live in nice neighborhoods and there kid go to college.. Don't judge everyone because of stupid things others do....
