Discount Tickets! Just bring in a video showing you popping someone in the head with a harmless pile of papers or of you screaming in pain (after a long pause) after being hit by a few sheets of paper at a Carson City Hall council meeting and you will receive free tickets to the Carson City Circus. You might even receive thousands of dollars with your horrible performance of a fictitious personal injury! Step right folks, hurry, hurry. See the saddest show in town. Let the sideshow begin!
LOL!

Mayor Dear is in denial. If you watch the city council meeting, it becomes apparent he does not have the ability to lead his fellow council members. His leadership style seems to be "my way or the highway". When he had Julie Raber to second everything, this style worked. Now council members are questioning hsi decisions. In an independent deomcracy you have to compromise and create a consensus.
In addition, while Dear has been on the council the city has overspent its budget by about $20 million. This year a projected $3 million plus deficit is projected. There doesn't seem to be any sense of urgency to balance revenues with spending. Do I hear bankruptcy?
Dear is also leading the $110 million subsidy of the mall developer on the landfill. If private investors won't put money in the project why should Carson bet on the mall.
We will see if Dear is as popular as he thinks he is.
You are contradicting yourself and you cannot substantiate your accusations. If you watch the replay of the Carson City Council meetings you will see Mayor Dear is not in denial, but quite the contrary, he says exactly what he means and explains his reasoning (unlike his rivals on the City Council). Beacuse he is a teacher he sometimes goes overboard but some folks like to have the background information that the Mayor gives at the meetings.
You say in your second sentence the Mayor does not have enough leadership ability yet you then go on later to say the Mayor is successfully leading the council members and the city with a $110 million subsidy of the mall project on the landfill. Besides, of this $800 million plus project, the balance is private money - do the math.
Your other point about the budget - over the last eight years the forces to balance the budget were first Dear & Calas, then Dear with Raber & Williams. The others are into spending money like it grows on trees. This new council majority of three acts to undermine Carson's future, have no vision of where the city is going and are turning to tax increases as their solution to Carson's budget problem. They certainly don't care that a stand alone recall election will cost $200,000 when the Mayor's term is up next March anyway.

sad for the people of the city that it does not have good representation at the council. if dear is recalled, lula davis-holmes and mike gipson are the next likely mayoral candidates. these two are for themselves and they will not represent all the diverse ethnicity within carson. these two are known for pushing to promote employees belonging to one certain type only. carson residents must wake up and what is good for all of them and not listen to the politicans and labor unions that buy these politicians.
This is so true!!! I had a tast of Lula. She is so definately into herself. The City of Carson representatives are so pathetic. This will never end. If they recall Jim, the next runner up will be the same story. Another recall for the runner up.

I wish we can recall the Council. They certainly would not like the feeling. This is all about politics & child play.
Let's be serious about the love of Carson. Why can we all get along? Get rid of the Council!

This is a clear victory for the people of Carson. This Mayor has played with races and people long enough - more expose's will follow this ruling which upholds the people's voting rights. No appeal can deny one simple fact - thousands are fed up with this Mayor. Enough said let us get new and honest leadership now and move forward.
I am with you! It is imperative that he is recalled from office. Be sure to vote in favor of the recall. Prior to the special election, pay particular attention to the upcoming election in June and vote NO to seating Dear, Raber and Williams as delegates to the Democratic committee. Your vote is powerful and it will make a difference!
