Ok I will say this, I married a Belarusian, not a mail order bride though, but I have freinds who met Russian women and married them while they worked on oil modules in Sahklin Island, and Magadan, Russia. So far out of 4 couples, two have worked out great, and the other two didn't. The one couple that did not was both of their faults....drinking, drugs, etc...the other one that didn't work out was definently her fault. He's a great guy, and she scammed him hardcore. So it's about a 50-50 ratio out of those 4 couples. None of those relationships were mail order brides, but they were Russian-American marriages.
I think every case is a differen't scenario so it's hard to put a finger on what the problem is
I'm sure there are Russian women just looking for a visa, and I am sure there are American men looking for nothing but a 1950's wife. I think it's all up to the people involved, and I don't think these couples get to know each other well enough before they marry. Best thing I could recommend is to take a few months and live with them over there...the longer the better, that way both have a clue as to what they are getting into. It's not a perfect solution, but it helps.
I lived with my wife for 6 weeks in Minsk, then again for 8 weeks in Minsk before we got married, and we also talked on voice chat everyday (Google Talk) after we met. So we both had a good idea of what the other person was like before we took the plunge.

Now here is something I did notice while I was over there. Minsk, and most of eastern europe is full of beautifull women. I don't know if it's the water there or what, but those women a drop dead beautiful. If a guy was to do his homework on a city...Minsk, Ukraine, etc...and he just flew over there without knowing anyone, he could end up with several chicks that look like models. The first time I was in Minsk, I had a hard time not looking all the time(wife was with me all the time). They are everywhere over there. Which one is a good one is hard to say, so a guy would just have to "test drive a few of them".:D

I don't know??? I heard all of this stuff when I married an Asian Mail Order Bride... I took this girl to my home in Vermont and for the last 9 years I've had a pretty little sex slave, that showers and makes herself look pretty, before I come home and she'd be upset if I didn't make love to her.
