Downright FILTHY Politics!!

I just got a robocall about Bill Carruth, who's running for the Senate against incumbent Bill Heath. This call alleged he's an embezzler and doesn't pay his income taxes.

Now come on. I know politics is a dirty game, but does it really have to be THAT dirty? I don't support anyone on the Republican ticket, but I think this sort of thing is going a bit too far.

Bill Heath is a wonderful and ethical person. I would be shocked if that were true.

Oh it's true. I've heard from too many people, all reiterating the same content of the recording. Based on the reactions I've heard, this fine ethical man may have chosen a strategy that backfired. Of course he lost Haralson County last election, proving his earlier statements that he didn't "need Haralson County" to win his Senate seat.

The robocall I received this moring ask me to "sic" the U.S. Marshalls on Caruth. Lol

My daughter was scared after hearing the debt collection message about Carruth!!! Heath lost my vote with that call!

I thought they banned those robocalls?

Now I don't know who paid for those calls -- there was no disclaimer as to who was behind them. Could have been Heath, could have been JK Rogers.

However, Heath is the one who first brought up Carruth's alleged wrongdoing here

Whatever and whoever, it's some of the dirtiest politics I remember.

Thats a very good question.

That's the issue -- they're allegations. The robocall is presenting them as if they're proven facts, and it urges you to "tell Bill Carruth" to turn himself in "if you see him". The call is presenting him as a fugitive.

It was the slimiest thing I've ever heard.

Since it is being used as a negative attack in a campaign I'd be less inclined to believe it was true, especially without documentation. It's been through the "spin cycle" at best, is my guess.

I ask because this is not the first time I've heard it. If true, I don't think it's "slimy." That's information I would like to know before i vote. Again, if it is true. Although, I believe the job could be done better by someone else, I do NOT think Heath is a bad person like some seem to think. Someone that doesn't pay their taxes shouldn't be able to run for office.

Bringing the information to light isn't slimy. What is slimy was the tone of the call.

I guess you'll have to get one before you understand what I'm talking about.

On July 11, 2012, Judge Walker rejected Heath's accusation that Carruth did not live in district 31 and said he does. Judge Walker rejected Heath's claims that Carruth owed the tax payers money. His loan was a private loan.
