Shooting in P`ville

I am SO FREAKN ANGRY right now its unbeleivable! WHAT THE %$#$!!!! If this doesnt show Racism, then I dont know what will! The Judge let him WALK?????? My 17 yr. old, bi-racial son just spent 4 1/2 months in jail and was given a $30,000 bond for an argument with a 27 yr. old white man, that didnt press charges on him, because they had been friends, but the "STATE" pressed charges anyway???????? And my son only hit him once! He DIDNT KILL HIM!!! But a white man can shoot and kill a black man in cold blood and "Theres not enough evidence?" What the crap???? He didnt even spend a day in jail good???? I know people on first time drug charges been in jail for over a year!! Whats going on here??????????

I may be wrong, but as I read it, the guy is in Jail. I may not have gotten the most current info though. But I haven't seen anything where he walks because of lack of evidence.
And is it really racism just because a white guy shoots a black man? Then what is it called when a black man shoots and kills a white guy? It's funny how it's only racism towards us whites and the whites are the only ones ever charged with "hate crimes".

However had the victim been white and the suspect black it would most definately would have been a different story. Now I'm from Poplarville and let me just say that if a black man killed a white man around here he wouldn't have walked away a free man...THE NEXT DAY!!!! And he probably wouldn't have seen another day in his life. People around here can skate around the issue but it is a well known fact that Poplarville is a racist town, and having this incident happen sure doesn't prove what's been said about this town wrong. And since when is it not enough evidence when someone is killed...THAT IS ENOUGH EVIDENCE IN IT'S SELF. The judge should have been ashamed to say something that ridiculous. You can call it how you see it but the truth is that it was and is a "HATE CRIME" and that's just RACIST.

After just watching the news, I see where the guy has been released, and that IS appalling. So maybe the judge and officials are racists, but just because the guy shot a black guy doesn't neccessarily make him racist. I would like to see how all this plays out before i can make any judgements.

The question is does the news have it right. We are talking about P'ville here where the news puts things out like the 3 bodies that were found and come to find out a couple days later it was bears remains. So it could just possibly could be the news fault about everything we read, especially here. Not much goes on in poplarville, so if it's a big story they want to get it out, whether they have all the facts or not. But of what I have read, I don't think that it is a hate crime. I think it was an altercation that went very wrong. The shooter also looked all cranked up on METH, but I could be jumping to conclusions on that one. They were friends at one point, according to the news. Now the judge who let the shooter walk out of there because of lack of evidence is a totaly different story, but that is also if the news has it right. According to the news everyone was shocked with that decision, from law enforcement, district attorney, and so on. What I have read, the district attorney is suppose to be bringing it to a grand jury. This question is to ANGRY (is this the same judge in your case or even the same town?). I do agree that is a harsh punishment if the other guy didn't even press charges. In most cases the state has to press charges. You didn't say if it was a first time offense, I am assuming it is even if it wasn't it still seems like a harsh one.

This is a very racist community. I have seen residents here stop eating a place of business because there was a black cook!!!!!! I have seen the KKK in rally here!!!! So for a human being to be shot by another human being and let go is strang unless you live in Poplarville. And white on black crime, please!!!!! I am not sure why this man has been released but murder is murder.... You shot and kill someone that is murder.

The judge feels he made the right choice! If you want something done about it, go to school for criminal justice and YOU be the judge in this town!

When a man admits to doing the crime and his confession is in writing can you with a good heart say that the judge made the right choice???? Doesn't seem like there are many more facts to get straight other than that. That is a confession to murder. Here's the fact...Poplarville needs a new judge.

I am calling your bluff. I don't think you have ever set foot in my hometown. I know several diners where african americans work or cook, and it doesn't make a hill of beans to anyone. Matter of fact the diners are pretty damn popular because the food is so good.

Ya know what? I am sick and tired of all you candy-ass yankees putting down on the South! If we are rated the lowest in education, it's because of the illiterate blacks who are allowed to teach our children! And why do we have illiterate blacks as teachers? Because affirmative action is rampant down here.
And the welfare checks?? Most of those are being handed out to the little black girls who prefer to stay home and spit out babies. I know many whites who really need support due to physical disabilities but can't get approved because they are of the wrong color.
Yes, Mississippi may have some pockets of racial discrimination, but don't think that the South is the only place! I see blacks AND whites eating happily together, going to movies together, and yes....even swimming in country club pools together. Unlike up North where the group of back children couldn't swim because idiot whites were afraid to let their little white angels swim with them! So YA'LL stop slamming the South!

Ok first of all, the KKK rally was NOT against blacks. It was a rally on supporting children's education. Glad you know so much. ALSO, I eat in P'ville everyday where blacks cook! White person got off easy, incident happen here in lumberton where a black male shot and killed a white male and today as we speak, black male still sitting in jail because of that crime. Murder is murder, yes that white male got off scott free; in Poplarville. Sometimes the color of your skin plays a major role in this defense.
