Demonstrations at three Florida prisons where more than 40 children were shocked with stun guns have led to the dismissal of three employees and the resignation of two others, the Department of Corrections said Friday.

How could this happen at three different prisons? Was it planned in advance, or are correctional officers just universally stupid?

I don't see the problem. Fire whoever thought take your child to work day was appropriate for a prison. No reason we should lose experienced people doing a job few want unless it was our lucky chance to get rid of some mental cases.

They do not kill people. Not one medical examiner has ever stated that they have. Usually the people stunned have massive amounts of drugs in their system. Then there is positional asphyxiation. Are they a contributing factor, maybe. The way the ECD was used has never been blamed for any deaths.(Contact vs prongs.) ALL parents gave permission. Big deal. I have been stunned in training at least 40 times. Wussies......... |

You must be joking. I don't care if the parents gave their permission...what resonably intelligent person would think it's okay to use a stun gun on a 5-year-old? If a 5-year-old was tasered in the course of an arrest, all hell would have broken lose. This is disgusting! |

how flippin stupid can someone be? lucky they didnt have one of those "deaths" resulting from the high voltage shocking given by these devices. omg. if it were my kid i would be beyond angry. just stupid, stupid adults here. there is no excuse for child abuse, especially by these people. they need to be charged with assault at the very least.

Yet everyone was all over my case during the elections for trying to get the officer fired who tazored his child in Alaska was reprimanded. 1/2 the US thought that was ok.

I do not see a problem here. This is a case of introducing some of the kids to what they will be doing in the future as criminals.

5 yrs old is too young but the 17 yr olds probably thought it was cool.
