Apalachicola Area Death Leads to Criminal Charges

The two men that killed lathanel carnes deserves more than just manslauter. they deserve to be charged with murder. lathanel never did any one any wrong. just imagine how his mom vicky carnes feels right now

If you want my opinion the deserve to be beat the same way they beat him. What happend to an eye for an eye??? Lathaniel was a good person, and i feel nothin but grief over this whole thing.
Poor Vicky i can't even imagine what she is going through right now.

What happened to innocent until proven guilty??? I am sure Lathaniel was a good person, but so are Karl and the other man. I also feel very sorry for Lathaniel's family, It is a sad story, but when young people get togather with alcohol, you never really know what happened. I pray God will heal Lathaniel family, and that the other men get a chance to turn their lifes around.

lathaniel went out there on his own, a fight broke out, a man died. another one is in jail-he is also a father-when you put yourself in a position-accidents happen. karl also has a child, and a family. lathaniel's incident is unfortunate, but i know karl and he too is a good person.

that was before jesus was sacrified for your sins, my sins, and everyone else's. karl is a good man who, like lathaniel,under the influence of alcohol, made a bad decision. why was he even in that situation-and not home with his wife, and kids. i could cast judgement and make my own conclusion, but i won't i will allow god to do that-he is the only one who can. if you are sin free-you throw the stone!!!(you aren't moving, are ya)

It is time to release Karl and hubert? Lathaniel, is gone hopefully to heaven. These men have family and they need to pray a second chance, will teach them to grow up, and be the men their children need. It will not help anyone to seperate, other children from their fathers. Karl & hubert need to ask for forgiveness and Lathaniel's family, needs to ask God to help them forgive, as Lathaniel was as much at fault,in what happened. God bless you all.

I am the wife of Karl White and the mother of his 5 year old son.I know Karl isn't perfect but he's not a murderer and he to mourns the loss of a good friend, Nathaniel.He stayed by his side and did all he could do to revive him. They were even supposed to go fishing the day of his death.I am extremely sorry about the death of your loved one and I will continue to pray for you all and hopefully you will have a forgiving and understanding heart and mind.GOD BLESS!

First of all, I read the reports and the two men, White and Cosby, have not spent nearly enough time in jail for what happened that night. I have a problem understanding why the paramedics were not called. Could it be that this wonderful father and friend, Karl, that you speak of, was afraid of getting arrested because of the drugs that were present that night? And don't get me wrong, I'm sure Lathaniel was no angel, either. He was at that party, too. However, I can think of no reason for him to have laid there and died because of it. These two beat him with their fists and then left him to die. I hope to never have friends like that. And I think that Karl's wife should know Lathaniel's name if they were such great friends. I honestly hope the 5 year old son has a chance to grow up learning better social skills than his father. Letting these two free, after such a short period, will only teach the children that they can get away with murder. Is that the lesson we want our children to learn? I believe in forgiving people for their mistakes, however, I also think they should pay for their actions. I know none of these people, and therefore I am on no side here. However, I live in Franklin County, and would not want to upset these men if I met them on the street. They obviously are not good at anger management.

I passed through this town several years ago back in a time before I knew Jesus Christ..I partied like the rest and trust me this is a town that parties with no limits. My belief here is drugs controlled that night of Lathaniels death, but the choice was theirs to be there to be high and to kill this man, so an eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth. All who were even there should be held accountable.

Being new to the area, I was suprised at the party crowd here. I have lived in cities with less drug activity. And the fact that it is not hard to spot or to find is amazing. I believe these boys are not equipped to roam the streets with other human beings, who, givin the choice would not have beat their friend to death. I have known people to do more time for driving on a suspended license. I am appaled at the Justice System that chose to release them. However, since my last posting, I have found that the families involved have left this area. I am relieved to hear that. I am hoping that these young men have no desire to return to the scene of their crime. I have heard of the horrors of the judicial system in small towns. Is this what is at work here? Do they know, or are they related to the right Good Ole Boy?
It is definatly food for thought. And I will be checking into it. I chose to stay unknown at this time, because I am not related to anyone here. However, I will not hide if I find what I am looking for. I believe in angels. And mine are good. I fear nothing for myself, but fear for others who are helping me. I guess you can get away with murder if you are well conected. I will leave the judgement to my God, who will lead me in the right direction.

you people throw around my name like I'm on both sides of the issues, when in fact I'm not. truth be told, i do not have time to participate in your lives on a daily basis. You have established governments, established laws, and processes to handle disputes. Stand up and be counted for your responsibility! Stop using my name to prove your points! Use your minds, THINK! forget about heaven and hell, stop wasting you lives and start enjoying them.
