Senator Coburn needs to be put to a reality check of his own. Look up the Davis-Bacon Act of 1931, this states that all government contractors and subcontractors on public works projects must pay prevailing wages as set forth by the Department of Labor. This is not something "new" just for the stimulus money.

Rich people pay your wages with the tax cuts they get. So you should ask Coburn to give the rich more tax breaks so you can get a raise. Or maybe the next time you need a job you can ask a poor person to hire you.LOL

More Americans See Democratic Party as “Too Liberal”
More believe Democratic Party’s, rather than Republican Party’s, views are about right
by Jeffrey M. Jones

PRINCETON, NJ -- A Gallup Poll finds a statistically significant increase since last year in the percentage of Americans who describe the Democratic Party's views as being "too liberal," from 39% to 46%. This is the largest percentage saying so since November 1994, after the party's losses in that year's midterm elections.

I guess they shouldn't have requested the stimulus money. Just send the money back and say no thanks or borrow the extra money. Who really cares?

Good for you, Perkins! The 2 'strings' attached to the stimulus money don't seem too much to ask to me - Quite the opposite, in fact. You needed this project, and you're on your way to having it. CONGRATS.

There were two strings attached to the Perkins' project. One, that steel must be American made which costs more. And, all laborers have to be paid prevailing wages as set down by Uncle Sam. Coburn says all Oklahomans, not just Perkins residents, are being penalized by that.

what if the residents happen to be employed by the company doing the construction and their actually making a good wage with the american jobs created. and the steel being american probably keeps others in their jobs also. but who in america needs good paying jobs. certainly not people in pitcher.
