The PG Unified School District could come together with the city and help fund the PG Public Library and even our Youth Center for students.

If it is for the education of our students and children then PGUSD could get involved .

You might not know that, without depending, on Prop. 13, several years ago the voters of PG approved a generous Parcel Tax for badly needed school repairs and improvements.(Please take a look at your property tax bill, if you have one.)

$8 Million was spent on a palatial H.S. football stadium that is used for 5 home games a year. I understand that more money was spent on other pet projects that went way beyond the badly needed repairs and reasonable improvements. If they have money to spend like this then we need to talk with them.

The members of that school tax oversight committee could encourage a funding program with the city. Do you know who is on that oversight committee that is approving the spending? They seem very generous so please let's talk with them.

Great Job everyone...we defeated another insult to us taxpayers whereas most of this money is to bloat up the already bloated city workers packages. There were 20f of whom placed sighs and mailed evidence showing the salaries of the city workers and i believe this helped defeat it. we will work twice as hard with massive signs on the streets if they try this again. I LOVE IT. They were lying to you about money everyone.

The stadium issue is another waste of money in a time when we have other priorities. The Good news is that all Measures will fail as the people are sick of these liars. i stopped shopping in PG because of sales tax increase.

Its over people and with the dollar declining..your home values will keep going down...there is nothing to stop it and nothing to bring it back. Obama has spent three times more than crazy bush did in 8 years with Dem backing. They are predicting a 45% drop in dollar in two years according the the Wall Street Journal Business papers.

Hey p.g. our Salinas library director makes over one hundred grand per year. Take our library director and we will throw in a truck load of farm fresh produce.

Yup, Freedom, now we won't have to worry about all those librarians receiving all those bloated public salaries anymore...because the freakin' library will now be CLOSED. So, when we want to take our children and grandchildren to story time, we'll have to drive to Carmel or Monterey and ask them to give us some room at their reading tables. And as you see, the measure really got whomped, didn't it? Now there's a voter mandate if ever I've seen one. Receiving 66% of the vote, when 66.667% is needed to pass. Us voters sure told everyone how much we hate our library with THAT vote, now didn't we?

Thank you, Freedom, and voters like you, who have now made your "taxpayer revolt" voices heard by insuring our public library closes, lumping us in with that rarified group of cities and towns who have managed to lose their libraries, like Salinas did. I truly feel blessed.

The next tax increase won't have as low of a turn out now that we all see how close the final tally was.
We will just have to work harder to get out more folks that believe this is the wrong way to accomplish things. There are other ways.
Those who voted YES, obviously don't think so.
Many will always vote for an increase to all our taxes because they believe it's the only way to "save" _________ fill in the blank. Get out and vote against all this stuff.
Tell PG City Council they have their priorities wrong rather than change the the policy of 2/3rds needed to pass a measure that increases our taxes.

Reorganize the Library so that it can be run for less. If Borders can operate and work their employees in a cost efficient way than PG should be able to do it also. That is where the savings must start. Has the mayor applied for a job there to see what they are doing to keep costs down?
