If this man has molested one of his students he would be required to register as a sex offender for a number of years, even perhaps life. He drove drunk putting everyone's life at risk.

Drunk drivers should be required to register as threats to society and until they do, until we impose tough maybe even mandatory sentences on these demons, then we will continue to see the slaughter on our highways.

Wow, people sure like to pile on. No one on hear has made a mistake. I am also sure no one on hear has been behind the wheel after a few drinks.
First of all it is here not hear. Did you learn anything in school? And you are quite wrong. I and many others who never drink thus could never get behind the wheel of even a garden tractor drunk. So I guess you really aren't sure of anything...except you can't spell.

Whenever I hear of a drunk driver getting himself killed, I think good, one less hazard on the highway. This guy was fortunate. Not that he didn't get killed, I could care less. But that he didn't kill someone less.

But make no mistake, he will drive drunk again. Most of these creeps do

Was the Superintendent also at the HSE holiday part at Blue Crew?
If so, as leader of the school corporation, did she have a responsibility to ensure the principal and other apparently inebriated educators drive? If so, is the school district liable?
Were there other educators / administrators who were drunk? Did they also drive?
Don't know, just askinng...
one of the ADs and the acting principal were with Syverson that night. the other AD who has been having an affair with the PE chair was the one he called to come and get him. So much has been going on at the high school under his administration or also called the good old boys network. It seems now is a good time for the school board to look into the other actions of their administration at FHS and clean house.

Do you think anyone from the school board cares what else has been going on at the high school since the drunk driving incident with the principal has taken so much of their time and effort. It will be intersting to see if anything is done with the other administrators.

as I have said before, put this guy in a room full of parents that lost their kids due in part by alcohol. Let him know just what pain comes from driving drunk, permanent, eternal, unrelentless guilt and remorse and sadness over a life lost, whether it is the drunken individaul behind the wheel or the fool in the front seat who grabs the steering wheel while drunk. Let them tell him just what it's like to be without the one they love more than life itself. Maybe then he will see the importance of NOT driving while DRUNK!!!! Get a job diggin ditches!!!!

i don't understand. this is unreal. we have a superintendent here that throws some christmas party - serving alchol - KNOWING that EVERYONE will be DRIVING AFTER LEAVING HER HOME INTOXICATED. and now she says she doesn't know if she will be serving alchol at her next christmas party or not? are you kidding me? is this woman for real? WHAT A JOKE. WHAT A FREAKING HYPOCRITE. yea...good one. serve everyone alcohol, send them home, and then when one of them happens to get pulled over - a couple days later suspend them for what you helped contribute to. why is there no news coverage on her? why is this superstupid-intendent not being held responsible? this makes no sense. and everyone knows that syverson was NOT the only person that left that woman's house above a .08. i can only imagine that there were 5, 6, 10 others? who knows. WHAT A JOKE. syverson should be held accountable for not being wise enough to call a taxi, a friend, a sober driver. but to let this superintendent off the hook is ridiculous.

One has to ask though, If I serve alcohol to the people attending my party are they reponsible and grown up enough to use good judgement in their consumption? I think it is the responsibility of the person drinking....(no I don't drink)

Oh really wrote:
He doesn't seem such a "stand up" guy when his first reaction to getting caught breaking the law and endangering lives was to call a police buddy and attempt to get out of the situation.
He is nothing more than a drunk driver that almost got a way with it. If the traffic stop and video had not been made public, he would still be principal at FHS. His hypocrisy has been put on display. No self-respecting school system will hire him. He should get help and look for a job in a field that does not involve working with children or teens. The " stand-up guy" tripped over his own feet and fell.

I would like to see how many people on this blog have never in their life made a stupid mistake. In all honesty I do not believe anyone can raise their hand. I know and admit that I've made several mistakes in my life, many I regreat especially the DUI I received 5 years ago for just being stupid. At least I learned my lesson and no longer drink. Syverson had the courtsey of resigning and not putting the school district through a bunch of bullcrap and avoid a situation like took place in Perry Township. Indeed he is a stand up guy.

It sounds like Syverson was a competent and well-like principal who made a terrible mistake. It amazes me to read so many posts who would like to see this man suffer for the rest of his life.

I'm with you jud...this guy was the administrator of the year just a few months ago! Any school district would be damn lucky to have him at the helm! Who better to talk with young people about making a bad choice...as a former board member, I would hire this guy in a New York Minute!

These people on here must be PERFECT!!!!
