Again, Brainard was and IS so reckless that he NEVER knew what he, as Carmel's mayor, was doing, that the demolition of the Carmel Grain Elevator is NOW a TOTAL ENVIRONMENTAL DISASTER!! Who pays for it?? THE CARMEL TAXPAYERS. Cost will be as much as $60,000,000--plus. Oh yes--also MASSIVE LAW SUITS.

Just saw the story on WISH tv. Once again Brainard screws us all.I live not too far from there. Why wasn' that place tested.I just saw al kids of pink dust fly when they were tearing it down, they said that was a banned chemical. So now Brainard puts the health of the citizens of Carmel in jeopardy. Its one thing to spend our money, its another to put us in harms way.We will not let this one go

I actually have pictures of the bags exploding turning the air and dust red. I asked what they just hit and the operator on the ground said don't worry about. They continued demolition for several days before anyone took notice. Very poorly thought out. An inspection of the building would have found these and they could have been disposed of before demolition started. Someone screwed the pooch on this one. So now they will take all this concrete away that is not contaminated anymore as it has rained and blown all the dust away.

Site Clean-up costs may hit $70,000,000.
Brainard, alone, produced this disaster.
