This just doesn't sound right. Who are these relatives now, that are second guessing the wife's choice?
Sounds like greedy relatives to me.
Let the dead rest.

Thorpes blood relatives should have his remains brought back to his home, this is where he was born and the lawsuit wil win. I do believe though that the family is just looking for a paycheck

Wouldn't "relatives" had to of given permission for him to be buried there in the first place?? What "relatives" are contesting this now?

This doesn't pass the smell test. Do they think they can "extort" more money this way. His wife agreed to the terms, the town honored those terms. Leave the man alone.

The man is dead. He's gone. Leave his remains alone. What's done is done. Do you people not have anything better to do than disturb the dead?

What about the man's wishes, his will? If that 1990 Federal Law is true, then we should bring back all those servicemen and women who died overseas don't they deserved to be with their families also?

In 1998 the Carbon County Vo- Tech held a rededication of the Jim Thorpe Mausoleum. That weekend the Carbon County Area Sports Hall of fame hosted Grace Thorpe. She was accompanied by an Indian Cheif from Oklahoma, who worked for the local TV station in oklahoma. Sam was his name and he traveled with grace for promotional purposes. While Grace was about to perform her native american ritual, a pair of red-tailed hawks circled above the monument for the entire time, maybe 15 minutes and after the ritual they flew off. Sam went crazy saying that the red-tails are a sign from abobe that Jim is finaly at peace here and Grace said that it is a sign that her father was happy and at rest. as grace said "Oklahoma had their chance and they blew it". There is a tape of the ceremony.

That's really smart moron!!! If tourism ends JT will turn into $hit holes like Coaldale, Lansford, and Scummit Hill. Tourism keeps all the scum bags at out!

I am Jim Thorpe's eldest grandchild nd am categorically opposed to removing his body from what is now sacred ground to return him to Oklahoma. The media are incorrect when they say that "the family" wants his body returned. Only half the family feels s complelled. The other half are perfectly content with all the god the town has done for his name.

Daily Horoscope for June 19

Leo

You need to vary your domestic routine slightly today to avoid feeling bored or restless, especially if the day threatens to be rather predictable. Think of ways to introduce a note of spontaneity into the proceedings, even if they're very minor, because they'll make you feel more lively and on the ball. If you're going shopping you'll be tempted by some impulse buys.
