Is it true that the bikers who are coming are gang members?

In my opinion the number of gang member bikers that are coming is directly proportional to the number of gang member reenactors that are here. It is also my opinion that those number of gang members are inversely proportional to the opinion of the "many" that post here.

I'm still terrified by the mere thought of biker gangs coming to Gettysburg.

its true the locals are trying to cover it up however, the news was leaked out.

The Goons MC from up in Schuylkill County will be in Gettysburg for sure this coming week.

I can answer that question. They didn't get a casino and now are looking for anyone to come to their town. The groups that are referred to as Woolies don't spend enough of their money in town, thus locals don't fully appreciate them.
THe locals feel if they turn a blind eye to some of the more unsavory activities within their town, they'll have a better opportunity of bringing some business into town.
Isn't it obvious how unfriendly the locals are by these postings?

Yes, for people who need some help with their situation, they think very highly of themselves. Aren't they responsible for the current depressed economy in that area?

You would think they would be welcoming and open to new ideas, theirs are obviously bad ideas.

Gang “a group of people with compatible tastes or mutual interests who gather together for social reasons.”

Yes I can assure you that there will be gangs in town for bike week.

The fact that they are motorcycle enthusiast gives them a common interest so they are a “gang”.

Last year I met a “gang” of Marines from Camp Lejeune, Cherry Point, and Quantico. I met a “Gang” of fire fighters from Maryland, and another from New York. I also met a “gang” of police officers from the Philly area.

If there will be a criminal element visiting I don’t know. All I can tell you on that is that in the past there has been no problems with the visiting cyclist.

You have seen post about this from people who know nothing about this area and only want to cause problems for some reason.

Here in the City Philadelphia we have The Pagans and The Warlocks, and in the suburbs, The Breed. They all generally keep a pretty low profile. I'm not sure which biker club considers South Central PA, and particularly Adams County their turf, but it's likely they will behave themselves too as the host club. I can't speak for The Goons but since they're from up in PA's Coal region they're probably pretty decent guys for the most part.

This will be the 11th year for Gettysburg Bike Week. Historically there have been very few incidents surrounding the event, none that could be considered serious, or a threat to public safety. Historically Bike Week has been a huge boon to the local economy, pumping millions into the town in just a few days, and local charities benefiting by tens of thousands of dollars, in a week that historically had been a slow one following Reenactment week. There is no reason to think that this year will be any different.

Some of us just arrived in Gettysburg earlier today so we're all going out tonight and raising some serious hell.

Despite the heat I thoroughly enjoyed my visit to Gettysburg for the Reenactment. Well done Gettysburg!

Are you hoping for something to happen in this area?

Please remember Gettysburg has people, and where there are people there is crime. Please tell me of one community that doesn’t have any crime. Maybe you should be a bit concerned about your community where a police officer was attacked and stabber an had to shoot the offender.

Once again, check the crime statistics for Gettysburg and Adams County, and you will find they are well below the national average.

I have to laugh every time I read this post. Obviously you know nothing about Gettysburg. You can’t keep anything quiet or private here in Gettysburg. You know they say “What happens in Los Vegas, stays in Los Vegas”? Well no such luck in Gettysburg.

When something happens everyone in town knows about it, before it is finished. If you want to have an affair with your married lover, Gettysburg is not the place.

I can assure you there are no secrets in Gettysburg. If there were something happening, it would be all over town, and everyone would know.
