I'm not here to sling mud or anything else; I'm just trying to keep up with this story. The last I heard, Orazen was slated for trial in late October, but there hasn't been anything in the news lately. Does anyone know where the case stands?
Thanks in advance. OHM |

I know Joe, but I don't have an opinion about his guilt or innocence one way or another, and I can't even begin to guess how a jury will find him. I am curious to see what comes out in court - from both sides.

Does the Commonwealth get their jury pool from registered voters only?

|
|
No. they get them from drivers licenses.

I think registered voters over licensed drivers are more apt to make more logical decisions. |

It's been a long time since I served (18 years), but I was once called by our local judge to sit on a five-person committee that built the list they pulled jury pools from.
I was chosen because I ran a business at the north end of the county, and knew a lot of the local people. The judge told us he wanted a fair cross-section of people from all over the county. We tried to avoid choosing teachers, doctors, and nurses, as that put a strain on the hospital or school system. Other than that, we used voter registration lists, PVA lists, Driver's license lists, and the phone book. I never did tell anyone I added to the list that I'd had a hand in that service :). If I were guessing, I'd say they do something similar now, using several sources of info - all generated by computer.

Lol. Given the way some elections have gone, I'm not so sure about that :)

OHM - after listening to the National News this a.m. I have to rethink my earlier comment, I am with you on the election issue. LOL |

Judged: 2 1 1 I agree 100% if Benny had been doing his job then this would never have happened. I mean they tried to reach him a couple of times and got no response. The guy should have to choose one job or the other. Either he is a deputy or the safety officer at the school. |

Judged: 2 1 1 Although I agree that the safety officer needs to get his priorities in order, the irony of it all is if he hadn't been tending to personal business at the bank on school time, he would not have helped to apprehended the potential bank robbers. On the other hand, if he had been doing the job he was hired to do at the school, he would certainly have been around when needed, and possibly the school situation wouldn't have gone as far as it did and and Joe might still have his job, but worse might have taken place at the bank. It's really a catchy situation to figure out in knowing where to place blame. I do however feel that if Benny isn't doing his school job, then neither is the school superintendent. |

Judged: 3 2 1 I can't believe that you believe that "KID" is a victim. I suppose you feel that all of the "kids" who are on drugs and completely out of control in NC should be left to do as they please. PUH-LEASE crawl back under your rock before you spread your stupidity. Do you know that lack of discipline and structure is the leading cause of all of this mess the people in Carlisle complain about in every other forum on here? Furthermore, did you know the incidence of drug addiction is highest among males 17-24? This means that allowing your schools to be run by people who are all fluff and no tough is handing your children a license to destroy their lives. You can blast Mr. Orazen all you want, but if he is as bad as you would have people believe, you wouldn't have students on here saying how wonderful he is. Everyone would hate him. As for Ofc. Buckner. I have seen the video. Mr. Orazen radios for help at least 10 times. Nobody is there for him. That is NOT doing your job, especially if you are the school resource officer and you aren't at the school. |

Judged: 1 1 This had died down and you may not be a horrible person, but starting this thread was a horrible idea. Obviously you have been on this site before and knew what was going to happen. So you knew that "mud slinging" was going to occur. Shame on you. For your future knowledge, here is the link so you can keep up with the happenings in Mr. Orazen's life, even though I am sure it is absolutely none of your business. http://apps.courts.ky.gov/dockets/DocketResul... I would also like to let you know that assault 4th with minor injury carries no jail time and that he will most likely be acquitted as this incident was not of a malcious nature. I would also like to remind you that if you truly are "One Honest Man" then you should have gone about finding this information in a better way. It's all public record. |
