This afternoon My wife and I went into the local Wal-mart,to purchase some items that we needed. On the way in we noticed that there were veterans collecting for Homeless veterans. This is an accredited organization, that collects money for veterans that are down and out on their luck, they also provide housing for these vets.. As we walked out of the store I started conversation with one of the veterans that were collecting. I questioned him on what they were using the money for and he told me he was a recipient of this organization, that they had provided him with housing and support.Good enough for me,as I was getting a couple of dollars out to support this cause, the man was accosted by a Wal-mart manager. He was instructed to pack up his things and leave the premises,he was also told that if he collected any more money that she would call the police and have him removed from the premises.
I questioned the store manager about this,I was informed that the organization had not received approval from the store to collect money. Now all this woman had to do was tell the gentlemen where
to get this information. But no she had to tell them to remove their possessions, and I must say not in way that was nice under any circumstances..
I can not believe that this is the way to treat the vets that have served in our Armed forces to protect this country and the people of this country. I will promise you this, I will personally vilify Wal-mart for their actions in this matter, and the way that it was taken care of.
