i KNEW SHANNON SMITH PERSONALLY AND HE WAS A VERY LOVING , HAPPY PERSON, AND FUN TO BE AROUND. HE WRESTLED WITH OUR BOYS THRU HIGH SCHOOL AND THEY AND MYSELF LEARNED ALOT. HE WAS EXTRA SPECIAL AND WILL BE MISSED ALOT. MY HEART AND LOVE GOES OUT TO JIM, DEBBIE, CASSIE, CHRISSY, AND CORY. BUT YOU HAVE TO REMEMBER THAT IS BETTER TO HAVE LOVED THAN NOT HAVE LOVED AT ALL.

My prayers go out to Sergeant Shannon Smith's family and friends. One of his friends i happen to know , his name is Eric Marth my nephew who i am so proud of who was stationed with Shannon in Iraq and still is there. Please know we are thinking of you at this difficult time and hope each day is a little better than the day before. And remember Shannon's dad, that Shannon did die for something, and that is for all of us to be able to live our lives freely here in the States. Thank you for your brave sons sacrifice.
