Battle Brews Over Washington's Bikini-Clad Baristas

If you're a mother who doesn't want your children to be exposed to a woman in pasties because you wanted a coffee, then DON'T take your kids to a coffee shop like this! There are coffee shops on every block here it seems like, go to ANOTHER ONE! Geez, the nerve of these "concerned mothers" trying to impose their "values" on everyone else.

People just need to keep their dang clothes on.

I would be willing to bet if a coffee shop opened up and had good looking males in speedo's these ladies would not complain.

The world has gone to hell in a hand basket because of people like you that think this is ok. People need to be ladies and gentlemen like we were born to be not skanks and immorals. And, no, I would not want to be served by a speedo wearing man and I've never been to a nasty strip club. I don't give a hoot what you think, I care about what God thinks and I know he doesn't approve of this. I'm sorry that this world has so few moral people these days. People like you are why kids think they can do whatever or whomever they want and live immoral lives. Go to church, it'll do you all some good.

I wasn't aware there was a verse in the Bible that spoke of God's distaste for women serving coffee in bikinis.

Amen Sister!! If we want our kids to grow up and respect their bodies and not look at everyone like it's a sexual thing, we need to stand up for something. You either stand for what is morally right or you lose your kids to a corrupt world.

I can't understand how the Health Department allows this. I thought there were codes governing clothing in restaurants. I'm just concerned about these poor mostly naked young women. What if hot coffee were to spill on them? It might melt their silicone breasts. What about discrimination in hiring. I think I'll apply and when they don't want a middle age mom wearing a bikini,then I'll sue!

I want my coffee shaken. Look, if you don't want to be exposed to this then don't go there. PRETTY SIMPLE SOLUTION.

no, the girls are not just wearing what they would at a beach. but thats fine. they know that sex sells... and these girls are just trying to make their money... just like servers, salesman, stippers... people now know what they "sell" so if you dont want to see it dont go. your right... these girls have no shame but just let them work. i respect my body so i wouldnt do it... but if they stick to bikini tops that would be fine. i understand pasties and electical tape are too much (or too little) so they should get that changed... if they wanna get noticed for being skanky thats fine. everyone likes a little attention... these girls like it a lot.

I agree. I don't understand why everyone has to have their damn nose stuck up everyone elses butt thinkin they need to fix the world. Why not worry about your ownself and see if that gets ya anywhere possitve.

i think that they should be able to waer or not wear whutever they want, whut ever happened to a free country? these gurls know whut thier getting into when they apply, and if you dont want ur kids to see them, avoid going near these shops, and have enough confidence in your parenting that you can teach your kids thats only aproperate for adults to express their sexuality, no matter whut you do kids are gonna see things you dont want them to see, you cant protest agaist everything you want to hide frum them, thats taking away others free will, are you gonna protest agaist next? brat dolls and barbie too? how about these teen shows, come on now get real,

I understand your view, however, the lady was at the gas station next door when her kids saw the woman. I drive by the stand on a daily basis while taking my kids to school, and its not uncommon to see a woman holding onto the window frame hanging her body out the window in order to draw attention. The whole theory of "don't get your coffee there if you don't like it" doesn't float when it is visible from other businesses in a family based community.

That line cracks me up? And you "bible thumpers" Are so moral aren't you? You guys are the ones that make the U.S. The way it is today (Censored to all extreme). Hell you guys get your panties in a bunch when people say a word like hell or damn on T.V. Thats what they have parental controls for lady. As goes for this coffee shop, If you do not like it do not go to it.. simple as that. The women that work here will obviously be signing waivers and also they are obviously working there because they feel comfortable with their body. Look at places like France and some other European countries, they do it because they adore the human body.. Look at Adam and Eve for god sakes they were put on this earth naked (So the bible says). So before you pass judgment and try to be the Censorship of the world look back at your roots.. Oh and im pretty sure god wants people to be comfortable with what he "Created" How better to express that then how these women are doing it in this coffee shop.. Its not like they are having sex on tables and serving coffee.. ITS A BIKINI! get over yourselves.

It's just sad to me that these girls don't have any self respect for themselves that they wear that kind of stuff at work. What happend to proffesionalism? Some of you say "sex sells" Well yes "sex sells" but a coffee shop is not a street cornor, or a strip club. If you want to see sex sell then go to one of those. I understand that this is a free country and all, but there should be some boundries.

If the coffee with these scantily clad baristas is close to or near an elementary school than parents do in fact have legitimate concerns.

I am not opposed to scantily clad baristas selling coffee, but what I am opposed to is exposing our children to behaviour that surrounds such a place.

why would you ever take children to one of these stands anyway? Therefore it shouldn't matter if it is near an elementary school or not... Most parents would take their children w/them to a bikini barista stand.
