My prayers are with Officer Fillak's family. Its sad, traffic accidents happend all to often, Kizmet is very dangerous road to begin with in my opinion. The intersection this horrible ending took place is very dangerous as well, it goes from 2 lanes to 1 each way. Only has stop signs for Chiquita bound drives only. Which could confuse driver cause most of the intersections in this city like this major one are 4 way stops. I remember sometime ago not long it was the way everyone took to get out to the UCAPAN( a popular mudding shooting guns get drunk redneck fun place)and that stop sign was more like target practice it was always shot up, at that time there wasnt much people in the area either . This city is growing and FLDOT needs to keep up with the growth. Most of Cape's road ways are old run down and in need of a serious overhaul. You can drive down kizmet and count pot holes the whole way. I try to dodge my tires from pot hole to pot hole for a smoother ride of course. I guess thats not the real point here.... Slow down people, just drive arrive alive. To many people are distracted by cellphones, music, and countless other things. Pay attention i urge you. It could be your loved one

Well I understand what the two of you are saying; I was at this accident site that morning and saw how bad the wreck was. Although a woman died there that morning I knew it was just a matter of a person not paying attention to a traffic device. One cannot just assume all traffic must stop, when you stop at a stop sign you look every direction for traffic, weather you see traffic or not you should take notice of traffic devices and especially if there is traffic coming. No DOT, nor the city, the county or state was at fault here unfortunately the blame falls fully on Pamela Fillak who unfortunately lost her life that morning. It is WE that are responsible for what happens when we drive our cars not someone else. We are so used to passing the buck and blaming someone else that we have completely lost track of self responsibility.

I drive past that intersection everyday. On the Chiquita stop sign it is posted that "cross traffic does not stop". I don't know what Ms. Fillak was thinking or doing when she pulled out in front of that truck, but she wasn't reading the sign. Cars don't kill people, people kill people. I feel very sorry for her family and especially for Mr. Guard. This accident was entirely her fault. She's not here to suffer the consequenses of her actions, but she left behind plenty of people who will. People if you love your family or life, read the traffic signs!

Plus I never said what time I was at the accident site. Only a person with less brains than a gnat jumps to conclusions with no other thought than straight lined thinking. It's easier that way right? Who cares if you always look like an ass? I got there at around 10:40 the wreck wasn't cleared away for hours after it occurred. You know all those laser measurements take a long time. Do you know what I'm talking about? Na, I didn't think so.

Its called L.S.S Laser Scene Scanning, Its used to reenact a crime scene and or traffic accident for further study. Also very accurate measurements to 1/18th of an inch or something to that nature.
However i wasnt aware C.C.P.D had that sort of technology, I Guess that explains why their police force is running around with nothing but handguns. They cant even afford to properly equip their patrol officers with shotguns or ar-15's. Just makes me chuckle :)

Of course, but only officers whom purchase there own weapons and are certified to carry it are allowed to have rifles, unless they are a member of ccpd swat.
Yet they can afford technology such as the LSS system, brand new hemi dodge chargers....Yet cant equip there patrol officers with shotguns at the very least.....Somethings wrong with that picture!
