Profile of Capt. Colleen Shipman - AM New York

Shipman is a victim of a crime. She didn't ask for this to happen. By all accounts she was low profile and and professional. It is a very good case study of what can happen to unsuspecting people involved in big things. Personally my thoughts are with all the men and women stuck in Iraq right now. They are still the top story in my opinion.

Sounds like Lisa Nowak needs some therapy. I'm disappointed in her as a potential role model for young girls. As if women needed another reason to be thought to be incapable of serving a serious profession.

These people are "THE BEST OF THE BEST" there is a lot of stress and strain just from the education , the job and put in the ups and downs of everyday
life. What has happened to her is just a break down, now NASA will start evaling everyone more closely and hopefully this will curtail another incident. Jail is not for this woman , and it will only further ruin a stressed situation. She is not your every day nut.

If this is the kind of people they are sending to space, I'd like to see the ones that didn't make the cut!

She new what she was taking on when she signed up for this. Education, Stress and Strain. If she doesn't belong in JAIL for attempted murder, where should she be? If you can't take the heat...get out of the shuttle.

You know that by the end of the week, this psycho wil be on leno, letterman, The Today Show, all the major networks are gonna want her on their show's, hell she'll prolly come out with a book by the end of the year, she's got kids, where's the father of those kids, it's sad to think that she's too proud to be in NASA without a husband.

Do you notice the balding astronauts? Women and men...space must take it's toll.

It is a shame what happened here. A respected , smart , pretty astronaut who seemed to have it all in career and family. We do not know what was going on in nowak's marriage . But we do know it had its problems . Maybe they began when Nowak started workiing closely with the male astronaut. who Knows. What is terribly sad is two things; the effect on the children and what now will happen to nowak. I feel bad for her even though there is no excuse for what she was trying to do. To what extent Nowak was attempting to harm shipman is what needs to be foud out. I pray for the mental welfare of her kids as well as somehow for this mess that Nowak is in to be fixed if possible. I think Nowak needs her kids and certainly vica versa.

She needs a LOT of help; her children need understanding, privacy and probably, counselling.

If this would happen to one of you TRUST me we will be on jail without any bail. I can understand they are under a lot stress but I'm a military and you can not compare the stress we have over Iraq with the NASA issue. This is no right and they should screen their people much better than they do.Nobody know the reality of our people over Iraq right now. My brother spend 3 years coming back and forth and its not joke. People here don't understand it becaus ethey do not show it on TV.

Billy-O probably led Lisa Nowak on to an extent. He probably knew she had a big crush on him, and didn't do anything to quell it. It was cruel of him to let it get to this point.

The problem is that we are all too quick to become judge and jury in any given situation. That's why we have a judicial system. Poor judgement on her part I agree but I say let a jury decide what her intentions were.

You are just wrong. It looks like now that she has been seeing this man for over TWO years. She didn't crack up in one 950 mile trip! Throw her, and him too, under the bus. I don't condone adultery like some people seem to do.

never judge anyone unless you hear the true story from the horses mouth,lets see what Lisa has to say in her defence,after all give her the benfit of doubt

All parties to the matter ought to be terminated by NASA immediately. They're on our taxpayer payroll and the last time I checked it was not part of their job description to engage in rubbing nasties!
