Hwy 16, because of the Casino traffic, is so dangerous. 2 days before this accident someone was driving toward the Casino, came into my lane. I had to run off into the gravel and then try to regain control of the car.
Stay home! Gamble online if you have to do it.

Yes it is clearly the casinos fault! NOT!!

They made him drink. They made him drive. Then they made him gamble.

When are people going to realize that we make the decisions not the business. Take responsibility for your own actions because no one is holding a gun to your head to do something illegal or wrong. I am so tired of people trying to blame the casino. I go there I have 1 drink and gamble for a few hours and eat and go home. Win some money and lose some money but I get to mingle with friends and keep people employed at the casino and the county.

If we followed your dumb logic then every place that sells booze should close down.

The accident happened at 7:oo am...The Casino stops all alcohol service at 1:30 am. It does not appear that the guy came from the Casino.

You don't live here and you don't see the danger that comes from the casino caused traffic congestion on this two lane highway that runs through Capay Valley. Take a look at the traffic statistics along Hwy 16 from Woodland to Brooks and it will become apparent that it is a very dangerous corridor of traffic. You will also see that most of the accidents involve patrons from the casino. They are in a hurry to get there, and when they are ready to leave, they are often tired and in a hurry to get home. Whatever the reasons for the accidents, they do occur with a frequency that should scare anyone driving along this route. Please, everyone, drive safely like your life depends upon it--because it does

I was run off the road about half mile East of Esparto on Highway 16. Though it was some idiot heading up the valley and turned around to get the license number. He turned left on Grafton Street and turned into driveway... Had a maroon Dodge come at me head on near the airport on 16, the next day the same car ran a stop sign on Capay.
There is also the Rumsey resident in small station wagon that drives 25-35 mph on 16 and when cars try to pass him he speeds up and will not let the person back in.
Sure there are some bad drivers going to casino but there are just as many bad drivers who live here.

All these Bay Area idiots come up here and have no idea how to drive, let alone drive on a two lane country road. They come off the freeway, and then try to drive 85 like they always do.

Have we all forgotten about the innocent victims? This man made a choice, the choice to get behind the wheel of a vehicle while intoxicated. Because of this coice, he injured innocent people, changing their lives forever. What will happen to the intoxicated driver? Probably nothing, he wasn't severly injured in the accident he caused, and he will probably go on with life as usual.
