Hi! I am Mr. Davila's daughter, just wondering what happened to the Dalkowitz family....
Your Dad was a great man. A "mench" I loved my Grandpa more than you can possibly imagine. We visited Pearsall the year after Harry died and I visited your Dad at the store. He told me he had been visited by Harry's ghost. It was strangely comforting.
My mom is now 86 years old and in a nursing home. We live in Seattle. Are you still in Pearsall? I am planning to visit Texas with my wife and daughter next Spring and would love the opportunity to look you up. My email is davidkaplan@pipeline.com

I don't know the Straits, but I have met Mr. John Strait. He would bring my dad water in a tank trailer every week, that was the only way they had water. My dad worked for Mr. John Strait and built fences for him, even along side George.
Mr. John Strait did so much for my father, I pray God blesses his family, EVEN MORE THAN HE ALREADY HAS!

this has been one of the best walks down memory lane in a long time. it feels good that some people still have good feeling about pearsall. i have lived here all my life except for a few years away and a few months out of state, and let me tell you regardless of all the bad things people say about pearsall i still would not live anywhere else.

I have one comment about Jennifer -- it was a really bad parenting decision to let this 13 yr old girl go out carousing with 18 yr olds at the end of the school year. I'm pretty certain that "wow, she's George Strait's daughter" had something to do with those older kids wanting to hang with her. She died in 86 on a dirt road actually on the Strait's property in San Marcos, heading towards the house--- they crashed into a tree.(oh, and this wasn't all that long after George's bust for coke)
I'm horribly sorry the family suffered this loss and the world never got to know what she would have been like as an older child and then an adult. I feel kind of snarky saying what I did about George and Norma's parenting choice, but it's something that I've carried with me for nearly 25 years and I'm not likely to change my tune now.
One last thing I'm going to say at this website: right now, I am sitting under a painting of 3 chaparals (roadrunners) painted by Bob Johnson, Norma's uncle. I made damn sure I got it when my father, former pastor at Pearsall Methodist Church, passed on. I lived across the street from Norma's grandparents and played with she and her sister, and she babysat for me.
Now, I wish the rest of you would play nice. Go ahead and hate his music, his success, or his image. It won't ever change what an incredible contribution he's made to the genre of country music, and how he's taken Nashville by storm while still living in our old stomping grounds (I finished HS in San Antonio, and that's where they moved after they left San Marcos).

thats what i always thought, my 13 year old daughter would not even have been aloud to leave the house and ride around with older kids in the first place...bad parent choice..

Ya'll people don't know much about ya'lls own town or what. He graduated from Pearsall High. And he does admit to being from Pearsall cause i read a magazine on it. But then again who would want to claim Pearsall as there birth place or even growing up there, with people like ya'll.

Daily Horoscope for December 11

Libra

If someone owes you money and you're beginning to think that you'll never get it back, this is an excellent day to chase them up. They may not cave in straightaway but at least you'll have had your say and done what you can. Watch out for a tendency to lose your temper, because although this could be quite dramatic if you're usually the soul of equanimity it could work against you if you become aggressive or unpleasant.
