My parents live off of Timothy Drive which is a street of off rogers and plum canyon and the fire burned down to their backyard...I have heard its a 15-20 miles fire wall...I live in Austin and have done many searches to try and keep myself updated...they are now showing the fire in Canyon Country and Saugus...so far 25,000 acres...I cant believe its this bad!
We just moverd to Houston from Nicholas Circle which was on fire earlier...but can't get latest info. All focuses on Malibu. Do you have any info on Nicholas Circle? Thx.

Is the neighborhood around Sky Blue Mesa Elementary School okay? specifically Haycreek Ave. The major road is Ermine.

Also is the Rainbow Glen area okay? its on the other side of soledad but my dad lives in those Blue condos near Home Depot.

Is the area near Rio Vista Elementary okay as well?

any info would be great

For information try the Santa Clarita City website - http://www.santa-clarita.com/news/fire.asp

Google maps as reference here - http://maps.google.com/maps .

Also KNX 1070 news radio.

Sorry I don't know how to post a working link but these have been the most useful for accurate information rather than just Malibu pictures.

I'd like to know more about the bigger fire, you know the one that makes up 30% of the total fires in California right now? What is wrong with the media's Malibu obsession? There are more homes and the fire is 10 times the size in Canyon Country.

from what I know the fire back there is smoldering....many people are on the hills putting out the hot spots. When I talked to my mom she said they are out of harms way of the flames but are still taking precautions because of the embers...there weren't any homes lost I know many people stayed and used their hoses and the fires came closer.

That area is not effected at this time. The Fire is on the other side of the mountains, into Saugus and North Valencia, buring towards Castaic

I'm right across from Rosedell School. They haven't told us to evacuate yet, but that we should be ready to leave in a moments' notice.

My parents live on Larbert st right by Sky Blue, where I went when I was a kid. The immediate neighborhood is o.k. There were some homes lost on Camp Plenty.

We are arrived back home a few hours ago to the area of White's Canyon and Ranier. All of the hillsides are black. The only houses we found burned were on Camp Plenty up past Nadal and one on Rosedell. The Blue Condos by Home Depot are fine the fire has stayed north of Soledad Canyon. The mobile home parks that line the north side of Soledad Canyon appear to be fine, the hills up behind them were blackened by fire.

Leono Cox is fine. Our son checked it out about an hour ago. My husband teaches at Canyon and checked is out this morning. The fire burned up to the school but the school is fine. The two houses across from Canyon survived!

Daily Horoscope for February 13

Leo

Something will surface that either allows you to go forward or blocks your progress. Whichever way things go, take action to bring about change. If there's a blockage, then investigate the true cause as to why things are stuck. If things are unfolding well then make sure you act with clarity and determination. You can build something for the future now if you make a decisive move.
