The Most Powerful People in American Politics, Today!

Given the Democratic Party nomination and current standing of presidential candidates, Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton, who are these powerful people called Superdelegates or Unpledged Delegates that could turn victory for either candidate?

The current total of delegates is as follows:

OBAMA CLINTON
PLEDGED 1584 1413
SUPERDELEGATES 271 271

This leaves Obama 170 delegates short and Clinton 341 delegates short of securing the nomination. Should Clinton pull a 10% victory in remaining primaries of West Virginia, Kentucky, Oregon, Montana, South Dakota and Puerto Rico, she would still be short delegates, approximately 190. However, a 55% to 45% victory for Clinton in all these primaries would result in Obama only 47 delegates short of the nomination.

The list of power players and who Obama would court is made up of Presidents, Governors, Senators that, even if a few begin to decide to pledge themselves to Obama, surely would bring many others to make up the 47 delegate shortfall that will, most likely, occur after the primary season is over.

The Power Politician List

Former President Jimmy Carter Former President GA
Gov. Bill Ritter Democratic Governor CO
Fmr. Gov. Roy Romer Former DNC General Chairman CO
Gov. Brian Schweitzer Democratic Governor MT
Gov. John Lynch Democratic Governor NH
Gov. Phil Bredeson Democratic Governor TN
DNC Chairman Howard Dean Officers VT
Sen. Ken Salazar U.S. Senate CO
Sen. Joe Biden U.S. Senate DE
Sen. Tom Carper U.S. Senate DE
Sen. Tom Harkin U.S. Senate IA
Sen. Mary Landrieu U.S. Senate LA
Sen. Ben Cardin U.S. Senate MD
Sen. Max Baucus U.S. Senate MT
Sen. John Tester U.S. Senate MT
Sen. Frank R. Lautenberg U.S. Senate NJ
Sen. Harry Reid Congressional Representatives NV
Sen. Sherrod Brown U.S. Senate OH
Sen. Jack Reed U.S. Senate RI
Former Vice President Albert Gore, Jr. Former Vice President TN
Sen. Jim Webb U.S. Senate VA
Sen. Herb Kohl U.S. Senate WI

The final person is John Edwards, who also has 19 delegates to pledge along with these 22 high profile politicians. The point has come where these people are in a more powerful position to lobby for political influence in an Obama administration, as well as to seek positions in his administrations. Governors such as Gov. Ritter, Gov. Schweitzer, Gov. Bredeson become very powerful as potential running mates or secretary level candidates. The uncommitted Delaware senators become very powerful with Joseph Biden positioning to be Secretary of State and possibly Tom Carper as Secretary of Commerce or Labor. Then you have the female Senator uncommitted from Louisiana, she becomes very powerful for diversity in the cabinet.

Finally, you have who I believe Obama will consider for Vice President: Senator Jim Webb who has extensive Pentagon experience and John Edwards. If Edwards is selected as Vice President, which I think he will for turning over his delegates to Obama, Webb will be asked to be Secretary of Defense. If Webb is selected as Vice President, Edwards will be asked to serve as Attorney General of the United States.

It is clear that Obama has this wrapped up and will win the nomination. The only thing unclear is the spoils to those who held out and now are in a powerful position to lobby for a role in the next administration and the next Congress.

In the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, the whole political party backed the wrong candidates and once again will be left impotent in national politics and positions of power in the next Presidency, except for Casey, who now could possibly named Secretary of Labor.

Presidential candidates Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama, and John McCain were flying to a debate.

Barack looked at Hillary, Chuckled and said, "You know I could throw a $1,000 bill out of the window right now and make somebody very happy."

Hillary shrugged her shoulders and replied, "I could throw ten $100 bills out of the window and make ten people very happy."

John added, "That being the case, I could throw one hundred $10 bills out of the window and make a hundred people very happy."

Hearing their exchange, the pilot rolled his eyes and said to his co-pilot, "Such big-shots back there. I could throw all three of them out of the window and make 256 million people very happy."

I previously thought that Hillary should stay in the race but now that she barely won Indiana, it seems hopeless. With little money and not enough super delegates, she has very little chance at this point. She's still counting on the Fla and Mich. votes but Michigan does not count. It's apparent that Hillary is looking for Obama to make a big mistake that she feels will help her win the nomination but she's really grasping for straws. If Obama were on the losing side, would he be just as relentless? I don't know but Hillary could be saving herself and others a lot of lost money and time if she were to concede. I believe it's her deepest desire to be the 1st woman president and I can't blame her for wanting it so bad, but she now needs to think of the party and consequences of her actions.

Hillary will take it right to the convention If for no other reason to hold political power over Obama's head.

Hillary has get to get her buddies in positions of power in a Obama
cabinet and she will take it to convention to force concessions from him.

She will try one last ditch effort at convention to get Florida and
Michigan to count and if that fails, force her operatives into 9O's
government.

This will go all the way to the convention.

The Clinton family will "burn the village" to get what they want. I will take great enjoyment seeing her (them) lose the nomination.

When everyone went to bed years ago , they said Dewey won, and when you woke up Truman won, same here, McCaine would rather have Obamma against, cause guess what he will win over Obamma hands down, I will vote for McCaine before I cast a vote for a guy whom still is a muslim and a middle name of Hussein, sorry but fact is fact, he wil not lead this country they way it should be, he is jello...I dont trust his change

Will any of you Hillary supporters vote for Obama if she is on the ticket as Vice President? It is very obvious that Obama is the nominee unless Hillary pulls out the October surprise that Obama is in fact a bisexual.

Do a google on Obama/Sinclare/Young. The media is sitting on this explosive story and waiting for October to release the details.

Hillary Received Another “Fraudulent Win in Indiana.”
Who wants a candidate that can not win on his/her on strength and by any means necessary?
Hillary does not have the necessary qualities required to deal with our government. She talks a lot, but clearly has not demonstrated the “POWER to convince the voters with out the help of the Republicans and Operation Chaos that she is the people’s choice.~~~~~
All through this campaign Hillary supporters and high level friends has been jumping ship, leaving her without the number of people required to put together a team to run our government completely which enables her to function effectively.

Fraud wins ~TEXAS ~ PENN ~ INDIANA and I am sure there are other state that she won because of the Republican Party and Operation Chaos

“UNDER CRIMINAL INVESTIGATION:”~~~ Rush Limbaugh’s Operation Chaos where urged his listeners to “bloody up” Obama by voting for Clinton in the primaries – is under criminal investigation in Ohio for violating that state’s election law.~~~~~~

With Rush Limbaugh’s Operation Chaos – where the right-wing talk show host urged his listeners to “bloody up” Obama by voting for Clinton in the primaries – is under criminal investigation in Ohio for violating that state’s election law. With Clinton winning Indiana by a mere 22,000 votes (which had an open primary and she was the overwhelming choice of Republicans), she can thank Rush for giving her that margin of victory – hardly a comforting thought.~~~~~~
Mr. Limbaugh crowed about the success of his ploy all day Tuesday, featuring on-air testimonials from voters in Indiana and North Carolina who recounted their illicit pleasure in casting a vote for Clinton. "Some of the people show up and they ask for a Democrat ballot, and the poll worker says,'Why, what are you going to do?' He says,'Operation Chaos,' and they just laugh," Limbaugh said Tuesday.~~~~~~~~~
But Limbaugh called off the operation yesterday, saying he wants Obama to be the party's pick, because "I now believe he would be the weakest of the Democrat nominees." ~~~~~
He called off the operation because he is “UNDER CRIMINAL INVESTIGATION”~~~~
Americans at large has condemned Mr. Limbaugh's intervention tactic yesterday, calling it a major factor in Clinton's narrow Hoosier State win.
A blind person can see she is not able to win with out FRAUD playing a major part in her campaign.(The Clinton’s are Thieves) and will never change!~~~~~~~~~
Obama for President!~~~~~~~~~
