Same here in South St Paul. Tax increases every darn year--and not small ones either. When we first moved to SSP the city was patting itself on the back for not having raised taxes in quite a few years...well, now, 10 years later, they've pratically taxed us out of our homes!!! And what have we gotten for it? A huge housing development across the street from our homes that few people can afford to live in. So our taxes went up because of their new homes...is that fair? Did it increase our property value as the city said it would NO. What it did was cause good people to move out of the city, even out of the state. Do our rich, new neighbors talk to us? NO. But they use our sidewalks to walk their dogs and let them poop on our lawns. They have no sidewalks. Do they follow the rules we follow? NO...they let their numerous cars parked on the street longer than the laws allow. One neighbor has a 3-car garage he doesn't use because it's full of junk. So his Cadillacs sit in his driveway and his boat--yes boat--is parked in our street. Who is running this city anyway? Where is all our tax money going? I see no improvements...just more crap piled on top of more crap. Nearly ever spot of land is taken up by a new house or new development...who's paying all those taxes, and where is the money going?
