Why would anyone want beggars night to be on a school night? How rediculous. Keep beggars night on October 31 like its supposed to be!

Why give "treats" to kids who otherwise are stealing from you?

Why give "treats" to kids who otherwise destroying your property?

Why give "treats" to kids who otherwise don't respect others enough to get out of the street when cars are approaching?

Why give "treats" to kids who otherwise would not offer acknowledge your existance?

Why give "treats" to kids who don't even live in your neighborhood?

NOPE ... Not this year. The punks have pushed me too far the past 6 months!

Moving Halloween is ridiculous...when I first came here, my reaction was "When is christmas?". As for the supposed lawlessness, one day of OSU football tailgate parties has produced more crime, bad behaviour and havoc than a century of kids walking around in costume. Grow up, Columbus

Three things:

• Halloween is the 31st, not the 30th (tema); it's also spelled with two l's, not one

• Beggars' Night is an opportunity to connect with the parents and kids in your community in a positive way.(TotallyTimm (who sounds like Halloween's answer to Scrooge))

• Many people do things on the weekend, so it makes sense to reschedule Beggars' Night on a night that more people would be home.(Beggars night)

Years ago my husband and I had a wacky conversation when he asked "When is Halloween?" He sadly grew up in Ohio and seemed to have no idea that Halloween is on October 31st...ALWAYS. The kids in my neighborhood will get candy, but they will also get a "Happy October 29th" And is December 25th going to be convenient for Christmas this year or how 'bout we move it to the 23rd for randomness!

Why is it that they do not list Blacklick in the postings for trick-or-treat night? This stupid area has grown so much, we're still supposed to just guess and use Pataskala or Gahanna's dates? There are VERY unfortuneately enough people out here now to give us our own date.
Which should of COURSE BE on Halloween night, not two days before when the kids have to get up and go to school the next day. Who are the idiots that make up these days anyway?

I have always been curious as to why the Dispatch publishes the time and dates for many cities in Licking County, but never for Pataskala. I would bet that their subscriptions in Pataskala outnumber all of those other cities combined. Yet, in all of the years I have subscribed to the Dispatch, the date for beggar's night in Pataskala has never been listed.

Pataskala will have beggar's night on Oct. 29, from 6 until 7:30. I looked it up in the Advocate.

Uh, the "idiots" would be the people that think having a bunch of young children running around in the evening after a bunch of adults spent all day drinking for the Buckeye game is a bad idea. And I agree. This is basic safety. And, also, what about next year when it's on a SUNDAY and they have to get up for school the next day? Good grief, it only runs to 8pm in most places ... most children would still be up then anyway.

The only thing I would like to see done is put an age to it. We have adults as well as older kids come out some with costumes some without, just a bag, I believe it is time to put an age on Trick or Treat night! Except for those who are metally younger and I'm not talking about the ones that act younger.

Its an insult to me and the neighbor hood when these older ones come out to collect, we don't owe them anything, the ones that are 12 and under is the ones that should be able to collect for candy and we shouldn't have to be afraid to refuse an adult or someone that we see is way to old to be out Trick or Treating, you know the ones that will come back and toilet paper you or worse if you don't.

How many older folks have stopped treating because they are afraid of these older kids and they want to take a stand.

I believe it is time for the city to put an age limit on Halloween Night!

Who is going to enforce this age limit? Do you plan on carding the kids who come to your house for Trick-or-Treat candy? What if they don't have ID's (which most kids don't)?

Why should legislators pass another "law" that they can't enforce?

NEWS FLASH: You can just decide to not give candy to kids who seem to old to you. No one will arrest you for this. I promise.

I UNDERSTAND SAFETY AND ALL, BUT I THINK THAT BEGGARS NIGHT SHOULD BE ON HALLOWEEN. EVERYONES RIGHT WHEN THEY COMPARE IT TO X-MAS. WE DONT MOVE THAT DAY. WHO CARES IF THEY HAVE SCHOOL THE NEXT DAY, 8PM IS EARLY ENOUGH TO GET THE KIDS N AND READY 4 BED! AND IF U R THAT WORRIED ABOUT THE SAFETY OF UR KIDS ON THE SATURDAY, THEN WALK WITH THEM!
IF U ASK ME I LIKE IT BETTER ON THE WEEKEND, CUZ IT GVES U MORE TIME TO GET KIDS READY AND UR YARD READY, TOO.

Im confused. I think our beggars night is Thursday the 29th because we have a Columbus address. But some of my neighbours think that it will be on Saturday the 31st because our children attend Westerville schools. We are in the Parkridge houseing developement. Does anybody know for sure when our beggars night is?!

Daily Horoscope for December 29

Libra

An emotional situation is as clear as mud today. You aren't sure about your feelings for a certain someone, nor are you convinced that you know what they're playing at. They may be saying one thing and doing another, and you might even suspect that they're playing games with you or trying to get what they can out of the relationship. Or maybe you're imagining the whole thing? Admit it - at this stage you simply don't know.
