A stand alone "emergency" center is a marketing gimmick and not a new pathway for good medical care. The point of an emergency room is to stabilize and rapidly triage patients for the other on the premises services of a hospital. This marketing gimmick is nothing other than an urgent care center under a different name.

Must be nice. There are large areas in southeast Ohio without a single emergency room.

Grove City will need an ER by 2014..by then their taxes will have doubled, traffic will be as bad as Morse Rd. used to be..& the garbage dumps off of Rt. 71 are starting to stink up more of more of that place. Maybe it could be completed sooner. Lucky Louie

And the emergency center at Diley is also part of an urgent care. So clearly, they are not the same thing. As a mother of a very fearless toddler, we have been to that emergency room once already since it has opened. They are fully functional and are open 24/7. They had everything they needed in order to care for my daughter. She got xrays and other care, and we were in and out of there in a matter of hours. My other option would have been to take her to to Childrens, and wait for hours to be seen.

No, that's not the only point of an ER. People go to the ER for broken bones, stitches, pain, etc. Oftentimes these patients need care that can't be provided by a doctor's office or even urgent care, like x-rays or ultrasounds. Free-standing ERs help alleviate the pressure on bigger hospitals, just like the mother above explained. Instead of clogging the ER at Children's, she went to her local ER. Win-win. Closer to her with a shorter wait time and maybe freed up time at Children's for a more serious injury. Not every person who goes to the ER will be admitted. In fact, I'd bet a majority aren't.

I'm glad to see something done with that plot of land that has sat dormant for years.
My concerns: Noise - ambulances coming in and out of that place when it sits across the street from a neighborhood.
Entrance/Exit - Better be as far away from the I-71 bridge as possible.

Did you guys check with the German Village residents who didn't want the race track to make sure the sirens don't upset them? Unless you can have your emergency in the daytime.

I think you like to "stir the pot" for no reason & create undue alarm. I live just down the street & around the corner from a fire/emt station & have no issues with the amount of sirens on any given day or night. I am actually happy they are that close & can respond quickly in an emergency. Also, unless you buy up all of the land around your little kingdom, you should think about what can happen to the land around you before you purchase your house. If you aren't comfortable with what could happen, then maybe you should purchase elsewhere.

Who are you to say what I can and cannot be concerned about..right across the street. I think I have every right to at least bring up concerns that I have that may affect where I live. And for that snide little comment about buying up land around my kingdom, that is a pretty queer comment. Really..I should possibly think that a golf course could eventually turn into an EMT center or anything for that matter. Where do you live again and what stake do you have in all of this?
