Glad to see this, but offsite mitigation of destroyed wetlands is a bad joke, and I hope somebody sues the f-ing airport authority.

Something major is missing in this article folks. Just how many TEMPORARY jobs will this bring in? Also the article said "The park system had been awarded $3 million in stimulus money through the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency, but the bid for the work came in at $2.86 million." Does this mean that they are returning the difference to the taxpayers?

The government borrows a ton of money then spends it on make work projects like restoring wetlands, paving roads, etc. This is supposed to "stimulate" consumers to spend their money to get the economy back on its feet and create jobs.

Just how does borrowing and make work projects encourage consumers to spend there money? I don't get it. Could an enlightened liberal explain this to me?

People with incomes are more likely to spend money. Any other insight I can provide? How to boil water? You too can learn to use a toaster?

Couldn't the C's Or L's come up with something better to spend the money on. The wetlands could be fixed later. I'm sure some public service areas, like police or fire could have used a few bucks to set up jobs that would be there longer than a parks job. Maybe it will be re-directed. I hope so.

Putting money in a park for a single contractor is a great idea - remember what giving billions to Wall Street corruption did? That really helped with business loans and solved the mortgage problems.

It's a good thing that those guys finally got their huge bonuses back - you know the ones that caused most of the problems in the first place.

You really do not get it do you? So one contractor is making money. Sure he will hire some temporary workers to work in the mud for a few months, but what will he do with those workers after this temporary job is done. LAYOFFS!!!! This does nothing to keep people employed. Absolutely nothing. The White House seems content on offering temporary employment through government contracts. That in no way brings down unemployment. The incomes you speak of are going to be used by this people to play catch-up and hopefully keep a little so that they can try to hold on until another temporary job comes their way. We all know the huge pot of crap you can boil your liberalism in.

Common Sense - did you ever consider that perhaps those temp workers in the mud may need to feed their families? They probably cannot afford a President's Club membership at OSU so they can get season football tickets and flaunt it to their neighbors.

I wonder why it is always a republican conservative slamming a liberal. Never the other way around. Did losing your asses in the election really hurt that bad that you have to be so hateful? Do you treat your neighbor that way? Do you have any friends?

Of course, those temporary workers need to feed their families, and that was precisely my point, but they do not need to be on an emotional roller coaster wondering if this week they have a temporary job or if get to stand in an unemployment line again. I want this administration to pay attention to the economy so that businesses that drive our economy can provide long term jobs, not this continual government dangling a few temporary jobs out over the masses heads. I am not being hateful, I just want people to be able to provide for their families, without relying on the government to prop them up. As a business owner, I want to be able to offer more people jobs. Just tell me what is so hateful about that. For the record, the Liberals have spent the last 8 years slamming Conservatives, and continue to do so. I have a ton of friends on both sides of the aisle. Of my friends who voted for Obama, not one of them is standing with him now. Of my friends who voted for Strickland, only one says he will vote for him again, but he refuses to vote for Obama.

Huge Texas Wind Farm's Turbines Will Be Made in China. This is were all the USA jobs going. In a nut shell, we are slowly self-destructing the economic manufacturing base of our nation and with that, the security of our families with each and every product that is Made In China. You may deny this fact as long as you are fully employed, until the day that you find that your job has been eliminated and consequently you are unable to secure another well paying job. It is then and only then that this self-imposed suicidal cycle of demanding cheaper and cheaper foreign produced goods, that the average citizen will fully realize what our government, corporate leaders and "We-The-People" have done to our nation. By then this declining cycle will almost be irreversible, with plants that have been shut down in excess 15 to 20 years and are unusable for further productive needs, the probable recession-depression that will surly surpass what occurred in 1929.

And when this wet land is restored next year and the workers are layed off because these were just temporary jobs?????????? Your short sited view explains why the democrats just don't grasp complex problems. Just like cash for clunkers. Who is buying cars now???? Won't be long before dealerships and manufacturers are right back where they were before. Only the country will be deeper in debt and there will be a shortage of used cars. Great work Dems.

Maybe because its harder to slam real solutions than temporary fixes. Who will feed their families when the stimulas runs out?????

Well, Paul Krugman won a Nobel in Economics and teaches at Princeton, and he is far from alone in saying that the stimulus wasn't big enough and that failiing to put money into this economy could have led to a catastrophe. Maybe you know more than the world's leading economists, but I got my doubts.

Ask Bush and the GOP. They left us a few trillion deeper in debt in eight short years by doing things like cutting taxes for the rich while passing unfunded Medicare Part D and an starting an unfunded war. Or didnt you notice, gman? Maybe you were too busy playing games.

Pisces

You're thinking along very inventive lines today, which is brilliant if you're trying to decide what you want to achieve in 2010. Get out a notebook or diary and start jotting down your ideas, so there's no danger of forgetting them.
