Reydon has changed a lot over the last 10 years. I graduated in 97 and loved that place. Things and people have changed. I wish someone "the city" would do some cleaning up in Reydon and give the kids something to do! I think we need some younger folks on the city board..and some big changes!

I think the 'manager' is new, but I believe the acutal business is still owned by the same family that has owned it for years. They used to live in Elk City, but I believe they have moved now to OKC or Edmond, someplace that direction. I guess since they don't have to look at it, they are not concerned about it.

Sounds about right! He has other stores in Elk too right? Maybe he needs to sell out and let someone else take care of them.

If people would be nice and put trash in containers to where animals and such cant get to it maybe that would help. I know that people throw trash out of there vehicles on the highway and all over town and in the country cause the wind blows a lot here and we get trash blown from the road to our place. We cant help what other people do we can only just try to clean up the best we can.

You know you people are rediculous if you have nothing better to do with your time then gossip and criticize certain places and certain people. Honestly the Reydon Store is not a bad place did you stop to think about other things that need attention in Reydon besides all that the Short Stop is there when you need something even if the weather is bad they are open it may be an hour later then its supposed to but they still open the doors. And if people wouldn't just keep stuffing trash in the cans when they are full it wouldn't be everywhere. It seems to me that you people have no respect so you might need to learn what respect is and think about what you have said or are saying. I just wanted to give my opinion and speak my mind because nobody is perfect and the employees do the best they can and try their hardest so just think about it.

Read post #4 I am concerned with more than the store! Not everyone on here is bashing the place! A lot of people use the short stop, there can always be improvements for any business. Are you saying you wouldn't change anything about the store? If so you are not being truthful. I appreciate the store and am glad it is there. I know it comes in handy for me and my family! Also, Randy has always been supportive of the community and that is a plus also! I think the town itself needs an overhaul. Maybe we should all meet up and work on the appearance of Reydon. Someone posted on here that Reydon is a dirty town. I do not like people thinking that way about our community. Anyone in for helping clean up the place? I am!!

No I am not saying I wouldn't change anything I just think you people have to much time on your hands and I read the snooty trudy article and you said people shoudn't judge other people and it sounds like everyone is judgeing the manager. If people are so concerned about the trash that is around the store they need to keep their dogs in a pen because they get in the trash and drag it everywhere. I know places can always use improvment but they are the busiest place for a little town and they are trying so you all need to give them credit.

No one is being judged here. I just offered in my previous post to try to get people together and clean up the whole town..pick up trash whatever it takes. It is going to take more than just me. Are you willing to take part? You manage the store right? That's why you are so concerned about this topic! We can all chip in and do our parts it may just take a little extra work!! oh and I also said that I appreciated the Short Stop.

the town isn't all horrible. the people who just work there are lazy. yes, they should clean up... but just because you live there doesn't make them trash. they do need some new city people there to help clean it up. most of the kids do care, but usually are busy with sports and their own jobs.

no i dont manage the store i just think the bad things that is being said is bullshit. and for soonercountry07 i have you to know we are not lazy do you want to come raise our kids and work your ass off and then get trashed or called lazy probably not so when you walk in our shoes for a day being as busy as we are then we will talk until then you need to apologize. and as for the kids you are wrong most of them aren't in sports they litter uptown majority of the time anyway and they dont work maybe you need to come spend a weekend here and pay attention. dont call us lazy have we called you names no so dont call us names.

Yes I understand that the kids are busy! Everyone is busy I raise a family. Take my kids to sporting events and work full time myself. It is not a matter of having time it is a matter of MAKING time! I think it would be a great summer volunteer program. It would also be nice to see some of the condemned houses torn down. Does anyone know how about getting that done. I don't want some of these younger kids getting hurt at these abandoned properties! Just some ideas to toss out there. I will visit with some others and see how to get something started. Arguing is not going to make progress!

ok, i've gotta say this: the people that own and/or run the short stop are good people. the fact that half of their traffic (which is oilfield traffic by the way) is too busy to actually throw their trash in the trash cans is NOT their fault. not to mention the fact that the wind doesn't help by blowing it out of the cans. how many times a day would any of us want to go out and pick up trash that we've already picked up 6 or 7 times that same day?

no problem. i speak the truth. ya know, that's something they should make kids do as punishment at school, no detention, no in-school-suspension, just go around town and pick up trash.

I agree MrsMcCoy, the kids should do community service there, here in bigger towns they do. It's really a matter of pride, the kids there have lost alot in loosing their OWN ball team, their pride seems to have gone out the window since then. Reydon used to have a community clean up day, wonder what happened to that

would you like to do the mowing and weedeating or do you just want to complain. obviously you people that have nothing better to do but talk or complain about things concerning anything but yourself have no life. seriously the shit is getting old, find something else to talk about and you might want to go by the store and have a look.

Daily Horoscope for December 24

Libra

It's Christmas Eve and you're running around like a scalded cat. However, it will do you no end of good if you can find a few moments here and there for some quiet contemplation. You might want to visit a place that's sacred to you, or take a walk in some beautiful surroundings so you can commune with nature. You need to feel that you're connecting with something bigger than yourself.
