I sure miss the old days like that. We could talk to our friends and not get ran off. It took forever to get down the street and turned around to head back, but I loved every minute of it.
Back then, you did know 70% of the people there and they were always friendly.

Yeah man, I remember bumper to bumper both ways on Main on Friday and Sat nights. Parking at the Druthers and Houchens parking lots, sipping on Purple Jesus. Listening to who had the baddest motor, and listening to the newest AC/DC release...Back in Black. Halloween on Main was also a special time!

Those were the days...

The name of the show was Night Talk and the male host was named Steve Shaw (not the new local chiropractor). I've seen him on TV or somewhere in the past five years or so.

You guys are making me sad with this reminiscing. How about WGRK Stereo 103 playing rock/pop music and rocking many/most cars on Main? Stan the Rock n Roll Man, Don Salmon...I loved GRK in those days. It was a shame when it went country.

I remember cruising back in 84 and it was a blast. Times were so different on main then. We would come driving down those alleys couldnt wait to see who would let us out back in line. People would blare their music and seemed like friends met on main to ride around together. It was alot of fun and to this day I still miss all that.

It was open for New Year's Eve on December 31, 1986. I think it opened shortly before that, but I distinctly remember being there that night.

It was a good place at first, but they didn't monitor the riff raff very well, and by late summer, there were fights in the parking lot and other issues. It reached a point where we avoided the place.

I think it lasted less than a year, but I could be wrong about that.

I remember the rink, I spent most of my time there. I loved that place and Rex was great. I bet I couldn't skate for crap today. Well I probably could but clear the ER for me if I tried for long.

I remember those days!! Cruising with my boyfriend, now husband, in his killer '71 Camaro! I so miss the 80's! That's when life was simpler and I had much less stress. Hanging out with friends at Beard's, cruisin...*sigh*..you could go up and down the strip and not worry about 'big brother' coming to make you leave. I do recall 'Night Talk'..we were on it a time or two.*blush from embarrassment* It is fun to reminisce! Thanks!
