You'll never see it legal, or "accepted" in Missouri. Almost everyone I know that smokes for whatever reason, with the exception of a couple of farmers... they don't vote. Felons can't vote, and there are not enough sophisticated people, who have their shit together, that will stand up and say "hey this is a good idea for more reasons than one"... will vote "Yes"... dead issue in Missouri I'm afraid.

Marijuana is less harmful than alcohol and cigarettes. There is no verified evidence that marijuana causes cancer. Alcohol and cigarettes can cause cancer. A person who smokes marijuana is less likely to be violent as opposed to someone who drinks all the time. Not to mention, the legalization of marijuana in MO would create more jobs, help get the state out of debt, and would cut down on drug related crimes and violence. Don't believe me? Do some research. Sources will say the same thing.

Why would ppl go buy it and be taxed when they can go it themselves? and more ppl have common sense and wouldn't vote to legalize it..duh?

It's obviously bad... a bad bad medicine. "Have you or one of your loved ones, been prescribed marijuana, and either died or suffered a heart attack due to it's use? If so.. dial 1-800-WEED-BAD". Right? I mean it's obviously bad, if it wasnt bad, so many states would not already have "accepted" it. And the federal government wouldnt be stepping in if it wasnt bad. It's obviously bad, or else the federal government wouldnt line their greedy pockets with the billions of dollars in revenue it generates in seizures, arrests, etc. Thousands of people, die every year, hit by a stoned driver, on his way home from Taco Bell. It's obviously bad, because like, nobody has ever been killed by a drunk driver, shitfaced on alcohol. It's obviously bad. You people are ignorant. The End.

And I agree it is a terrible substance, just ask Cheech and Chong they'll verify.:)

I don't really believe it's for pain persay, just a little something to kick in there appetite.

Well. Now more info about uses of marijuana. There is an article on yahoo about a possible new diet drug in future that has some same components as marijuana, of course still being tested. The article was interesting.
