Ill. ex-teacher pleads guilty to sex with student

If coercion is proven let him go to jail.
If it was consensual he should be left alone.

it is never consenual when someone is in a position of power over the person who is receiving the sexual advances!!! He is an adult and she is a child how can it ever be consenual?

Presumptuous much, mel? How do you know SHE didn't seduce HIM? This isn't 1950...teenage girls are quite capable of such behavior (have you ever overheard some of their "colorful" conversations at the mall, for one?).

If she was failing a class when this all started, it sounds like he was spending extra time trying to help her out so she could do better. In such situations, where there is a lot of individual attention, it's quite possible for feelings to emerge. We're human, and basic instinct can be tough to restrain.

I'm not saying the teacher shouldn't have restrained himself--he SHOULD have--but the situation probably is not as simple as "He hit on her, what a monster!" Remember, they had sex FOUR times. Sounds like she was a willing participant.

The next question is, why did she decide to keep it to herself for so long? Maybe the teacher ended the relationship and, as we know, "hell hath no fury...."

If it's an underage boy making it with a hot female teacher, I say let him go.

On the other hand, if it's a male teacher making it with a hot female student, send him to jail.

Sounds like the next generation of reality TV game show hostesses is being groomed.

know the law. Sex with a male or a female under the age of 18 is considered statutory rape punishable by law. Any perp. will be registered as a sex offender.
No matter what the teen ager does it is up to the adult to stop any advances. No young girl ever seduced a man who couldn't have stopped, before sex was committed unlawfully.
