Take some time to visit the town hall folks, and then visit some area towns to see what space they are using. Abbbot's population is less than 1,000.

The old town school building needs to be torn down. Some people cannot let go of the past. Hanging on to an outdated building in poor condition is not an option. Nostalgia should not be a reason to repair or maintain a structure.
