Agree, no need for the city's new plan .... why not enforce the city's ordinance (already in place !!) and fine people for not putting their trash out in a COVERED trash receptacle. The city could make $$$$$ for these plastic bags people now use.....His 'constituents' would be happier -- and a little richer too....

I rode around yesterday through parts of Everett that had trash collection....It is an absolute disgrace...Some people had the covered trash barrels and no messiness....A LOT had piles and piles of plastic bags (certainly they are not recycling - they just couldn't have that much trash -- and I'm talking single family residences???? That alone should raise a red flag with code enforcement !!!!

With towing (April 01 is coming up folks !!), winter towing, parking meter fines, non-resident overnight parking fines....I would say the city takes in quite a bit of $$$$$$$ in fines alone.....

More revenue is lost by people parking too close to corners (see that all the time), parking near a fire hydrant (yep I see that also)....

BTW, my taxes never went down with recycling - thought they were supposed to with all the $$$$$ saved....Hmmmmmmmm...

Because a drop in property value doesnt change the amount of money you need to raise for budgeted expenses.

I got the flier in the mail about the new rubbish program fatso wants for Everett. He should start cleaning up the inconsiderate rubbish collectors first then the rubbish pickers and then the recyclers. I bet that Everett could make money on giving out tickets to the rubbish pickers for say $50.00 a pop for making a mess. That will generate some money.
Now he wants you to rent the bins if you need more than one. I only need one but $150 a year just go and steal your neighbors and your all set.
This will not clean up any garbage in Everett. There are other living rodents in Everett not just the real thing. The Everett voters missed the boat on cleaning up the Donut Man when they had the chance voting.

I saw an Everett Employee get pissed at the rubbish men Last Thursday when she was in her public office doing the parking stickers. She just came back from lunch.I think if she could of she would of killed the guy because of the way she was talking. We both had an indecent that day and I told her mine and she was po'd.

I have about 5 gripes with those scumbags and I called the fatso's office and got no response because the idiots still are doing the same thing.

When the idiots who run the city of Everett their first item on the list is how can we make money off an Idea and screw the people. That's how I look at it.
When was the last time the city of Everett put a dollar back in your pocket never because it's been going into Fatso's pocket's

EVERETT: City loses $$$ when police don't ticket for vehicles parked too close to the corner, parked near a fire hydrant, parked partially on a sidewalk, parked facing traffic the wrong way (park in the direction you are driving your vehicle), parking across a crosswalk (yes I've seen that).....Every above-noted infraction not ticketed is revenue lost.....

Its funny how this trash barrel talk started after the mayor won the race, when will you all realize, we need another mayor.

Our taxes go up every year and now a charge for barrels ??

There are new laws made every year to get our money and its not ending unless we vote out the mayor.

You need trash bags with a scent that will keep can collectors away.

I've seen them dump bags out into the barrels, so they can take the bag, with the cans in it.
Disgraceful.

We recycle cans,
but if I put my bags out before 10am, the can collectors tear holes in the bags, and let trash spill out.

Instead of bags, try using a covered receptacle -- put the bags in the receptacle...Might just work...

i can only guess that ur choice 2 use the words "covered receptical" instead of barrel was an attempt to sound smarter than the other posts. OF COURSE WE USE BARRELS.. WITH COVERS!! It doesn't matter.. although hooking my cans & trash up to a "RECEPTICAL" would probably work even better..HOW SHOCKING WOULD THAT BE FOR THE PICKERS/SLOBS.!!?

I was just reading all your posts and if you think that for one minute i am renting a barrel to throw my trash away...guess what i will take my trash and throw it in the mayor's yard and he can pay for it...the only trash that needs to be taken out of everett is the brazilian slobs and trash pickers who toss your rubbish out of the cans....plus, the mayor isn't paying for his trash because he will dump it off at revere shop he owns..why should the people who actually use trash barrels get punished for the slobs who don't care..screw them not us (but they screw so much, they also get blue cards from Obuma!!)

My guess is that we will need the money to school the children of the overcrowded developments the the city is allowing to be built, such as the Waters Ave projects.

It was stated at the budget hearings that the regulations for the program will be in front of the city services commission in June and a soft rollout of the program will begin in August.

OVERBUILDING: You are soooo right !!!! I don't live near Waters Ave but I know how wrong this is .... and our politicians are like, "We need to do a study to see why school enrollment is up." DUHHHHH .... FREE PRESCHOOL, FREE ALL DAY KINDERGARTEN, NEW HIGH SCHOOL,-- what's not to like ???? if you are transient and looking for some 'perks' for the kiddos ..... Take away all this 'free' stuff and Everett might be on a more level playing field with other cities....
