Sister Mourns Two Brothers Killed in Same Year

JACKSONVILLE, FL -- The similarities between the murders of her two brothers -- spooks Daarina Lowman.

"They were both born 11 months apart and they were killed 11 months apart," the 23-year-old told First Coast News.

Corian and Derek Lowman were both shot to death at the age of 21. They were both in cars when they were killed. And both murders remain unsolved.

Their older sister is now planning another funeral.

"It's a painful feeling to have to bury two brothers within the same year," Daarina said.

In August of 2007, Derek was killed in a drive-by shooting in the Sandalwood area.

Then last week, Corian was shot after police say he got into an argument with another man. The shooting happened on Dallen Lea Drive.

While police aren't sure who killed the men, Daarina says she didn't know if they had any enemies.

"I'm not saying they were angels but they didn't deserve to die like that."

She hopes someone saw something and will come forward with tips.

The gunman in the case of Corian's murder is described as a 5-foot-8 black man, between 230 and 250 pounds, with dark, short hair and gold teeth. He drove off in a green Grand Prix with dark tinted windows.

Police are also searching for a white Ford Crown Victoria with Florida Tag Q59-4US.

well am double that age and then some and yet oddly enough do not have a rap sheet like that, and all that crap from the age of 18 to 21 a MERE THREE years and thats the stuff they GOT caught for.......... nope not angels by ANY stretch of the imagination.

I figured...it's amazing how people can go through life without so much as a speeding ticket...and then look at that long ass list. Pathetic scum.

The "Not angels....but who really is?" was meant as sarcastic....it's hard to convey sarcasm on a forum...:) I too am double their age without a rap sheet like that :)

I know what ya mean ^_^ and I'm younger than they are...well, were, by like a year and a half...and there's not a thing on my record! Not even a moving violation (I can usually talk my way out of those :) knock on wood).

First of all I really don’t care if somebody smokes a little weed or does any other drug, never have understood why people wanted to do drugs or drink till they can’t see straight. I don’t care who the victim is, gender, color of skin or class back ground, trash is trash, white trash, asia trash, illegal trash and yes black trash. Should drugs be illegal, in my opinion no, but right now they are. These two pieces of trash lived life dangerously and it bite them in the behind, young man in Green Cove played on train tracks that bite him in the behind.
