Two Hemet men were killed on Friday when the dune buggy they were riding in rolled several times after they rounded a corner.
Donald Wayne King, 47, was driving the buggy when it crashed around 8:45 p.m. Michael Todd Wright, 39, was riding in the car at the time of the accident on Tripp Flats Road, near Cary Road, in Anza, according to a coroner's official.
Wright died at the accident, and King passed away a few minutes later, a coroner's official said.
Authorities are not sure how quickly the men were traveling at the time of the accident. Read more

Don has been a friend for 25 years. He was was "nicest guy" you could ever meet. Always had smile on his face and would do anything for anyone. He was a great father to his kids and they will miss him terribly. What a tragic loss for all who knew him. Rest in Peace Don. We'll never forget you.3116

Mr. King was a great teacher. He had more patience than most any man is given. He was one of only a couple teachers that were able to reach me. This is a horrible tragedy. These things always seem to happen to the nicest people. I thought about Mr. King often, and will miss seeing him from time to time. Rest peacefully Mr. King.

My son and I were in Indian Guides with Don and his son. We did quite a few camping trips together. He's someone who you instantly liked and respected. I'm so very sorry to hear about his death.

Mr. King was my drafting teacher; he was a funny and caring teacher. I still think of him when ever I hear a song by the Beach Boys, Bob Dylan or Jimmy Buffet. I remember him walking around class either singing or humming one of their tunes.

I didn't realize how dangerous riding a dune buggy is. What happened? We ride with our children. They are buckled in car seats.

it has been two years since he passed away, and hear i am at work and i stumble on this. funny how that works but it goes to show that a great person can and does make an impact on someones life. i still recall him asking me every day " my friend dustin how are you doing." he was allwayse in a chearful mood, and was such a great teacher . in fact if it wernt for how fun he made his class, i would have never of gone to 4th period. he will be missed by us all. rest in peace mr. king

It is sad to hear of Don's passing so long after the accident. We were friends at SDSU in the same track to be teachers. He was a fun friend & classmate. I am sad that I took so long to look him up. May the Lord richly bless his family that remains.
