Reception venues in the Rockford area?

Hi!:)

I'm getting married next year and we're starting to look at possible reception venues within about a 10-mile radius that are budget-friendly. I was not very impressed with Forest Hills Lodge, but the rates are good. We would prefer to bring our own food, but if made to use a venue's dining service we don't want Italian. As far as rates go, nothing too much over $1k would be great. Thanks - we appreciate any ideas or input!

The klehm arboretum is absolutely beautiful! Spacious but not too big and you can bring your own food. It was just under 1k. You must check it out! On your way there is not the greatest neighborhood but once your on the grounds you would never notice.
