Bwahahahahaha . What world are you living in? Damn crackheads will destroy anything positive. As a matter of fact , how stupid is it to trash your own shit? Pretty f-in stupid. You will never have anything nice there. Somebody will write graffitti on it, burn it, blow it up, something, stupid people tearing up anything in site. It already looks like a bomb went off and nothing was touched afterwards.

With the help of almighty god and his wrath there will be no gambling in Cairo. Oh Lord in heaven, be praised and blessed are the meek. The gamblers and the whores must be stopped by His grace or may they burn in hell amen. Yay oh Lord our Savior, lead them on the path to righteousness and away from the sins and corruptions of gambling! Amen.

You do not have to be a Christian to know what is best for your community.

It's a no-brainer that Cairo would be harmed by video gambling... any gambling. And any discussion of strip clubs means the city leaders gave up on Cairo.

I fail to see the argument against what is happening with the new businesses coming to cairo. There will actually be "life" near the interstate and the city will gain some much needed revenue. If you don't drink or gamble or have any interest in these businesses, simply don't go there. Personally, I can't wait to see what kind of food they serve and maybe have a cold beer.:)

Big Whoop, there is nothing a.c. and j.w can do that will turn Cairo's economy around. Not nough research has gone into finding the negative aspects of their pet project. Most comments on here are stating the view that only positive things will occur when the gambling/strip clubs open for business. I personally feel the negatives will far outweigh the positive. Even though one does not go there, this type of industry will affect everyone in some way or another. Crime will most likely escalate, poor people will be even poorer, after the video machines and strippers collect the money. And don't forget about the increase in gambling addicts, and alcoholics, that will have to be taken care of by the state, where all taxpayers are tapped for this cost. This will not be a "win-win" situation, but will be a"lose-lose" deal for a lot of individuals. One can only wonder why the Mayor and the city council members aren't smart enough to re-invigorate Cairo without resorting to gambling, alcohol and nudity. Oh yes, Linda, nudity is on the way, despite what your brother says.

The Armory?!

Hmm... one big gambling parlor. Wonderful.

Why not give the Armory to the citizens of Cairo for a community center? Cairo has few amenities for the citizens as it is.

Besides, it seems wrong to use an armory for something so seedy, imo. It's disrepectful to those who served our country.

The Armory could be used as a gymnasium/community center for the residents. Martial arts lessons, wine tastings, art shows, dog shows, flea market on weekends, concerts, dances, community pancake breakfasts, and more.

Cities across the U.S. have come up with creative uses for their armories. Reuse that serves the community, not a select few, who will profit from gambling:(

I'll start an Armory Reuse thread.

We can't avoid the crime that gambling will bring. Plus, those of us living in Cairo now, must deal with the problems associated with excessive substance abuse.

I'm saying, all citizens of Cairo will be impacted by the proposed gambling & drinking establishments, even if we don't frequent the gambling locales.

Chester's Fried Chicken & Subway will more Cairo forward. Please don't screw it up by allowing video gambling & more liquor licenses:(

Daily Horoscope for May 23

Taurus

You have a very high opinion of someone today. In fact, you're really impressed with them and you'll probably sing their praises to anyone who'll listen. If you meet someone for the first time now, you'll be very impressed and this will never change throughout your relationship. But try not to idealize them into something they're not.
