Has anybody heard if anyone from Trigg Co passed the clerk's exam? If so, reckon they'll run against Pam perry. Reckon will Pam even run. I heard she's been there for like 33 years.

The way I understand it, someone (a man) did pass the state required test and will be certified to run if he wants to. Pam and her staff have been there for several years, but I'm not sure if Pam has been there quite 30 years. Her main clerk, Teresa has been there even longer.

My opinion, strictly based on my experiences- they do a good job. And I'm very sure that a new guy with no experience will not do any better of a job. Nothing against him!!! I don't even know who he is.

The wind of change is blowing hard these days in trigg co. May be unfortunate again for another long-time incumbent.... Just like the last 2 in 2010.

Yeah it's a dang shame how ego seems to always get in the way and the trigg county "career politicians" never seem to be able to figure out when their time is up. They have to be showed

It make absolutely no sense to vote out someone just because she has been in office for a while. She does a good job!!! Her experience helps the county not harms. Can you image a "magistrate" stepping in with no experience? Think about everything that her office does!!!

Im guessing that if whoever it is has indeed passed the exam giving by the AOC then they; The Administrative Office of the Courts will certify this person "qualified".

Yes he has passed the examination and will be certified by the Secretary of State; but that in no way makes him capable of running the office.

There are people who can study materials provided by AOC and pass a test on that material. But that material doesn't cover everything done in the clerks office.

One would have to assume that "running the office" can't be too hard with the 3 manuals on the shelf behind you to answer any questions on procedure.
Being professional and courteous of others and their needs and situations would be most important. And the ability to handle the public well. And Oh and I forgot, to be there at work during business hours also would be kinda important. Huuhhmmm

Change is most always good in any political office. Especially after someone's been a part of it 30 plus years! The level of efficiency cannot remain in tip top shape. Think about it: you don't even keep your vehicle as clean after you've owned it a while. You just take it for granted.

According to the AOC website she has worked in this office 33 years. This isn't about the number of terms she has had. It's about knowing when it's time to move on. But agree with above posts. When people can't figure out when they been there long enough, no big deal. Thankfully trigg county people has recently started figuring it out for these folks.

How much experience in a clerk's office to you have? I worked in a circuit clerk's office for 6 years before relocating with husband. And those 3 books, they don't even come close to telling you how to work in a office. They don't cover working the courtroom, drivers license, e citations , e warrants, etc.

Excuse me "Heidi". But apparently you haven't been here long enough to know that the deputy clerks here perform the work anyways cause the elected clerk is never in the office. The chief deputy clerk here should be "the clerk" as she runs the office anyways! Trigg co constituents will solve this problem. They do a good job at the polls lately with pickin the sensible choice which is usually change after somebody's wore out their welcome.

I don't even know the person running but will support him just because trigg deserves fresh people in every office. Old bread get stale when left on the shelf. Everyone I hear around town is voting for this guy. Must be a good change

if memory serves me correctly republicans were in the white house for 8 years and left this economy in a bad shape by not stepping in and making gas companies lower gas. when gas went sky high that had a ripple effect on people not buying cars, trucks, and no one buying vehicles forced factories to shut down and parts suppliers to those factories shut down and so on . so dont make a comment about the funniest joke youve ever heard. the facts do not lie. dont blame democrats for todays problems . the republicans had control for 8 looooong years and did what???
