At the risk of being yelled and cussed out I have to say that I worked with this girl for two and a half years. This is so not like her. She was extremely close to her mom and then she found out she was dying and lost her in less than a year. She has been extremely depressed and not functioning the way a normal person does. The mom in me cries for that baby and hopes she (Lauren) gets what she deserves. The mom in me also cries for her and her entire family and prays that they get her the help she needs.

BRECKENRIDGE -- A teen who gave premature birth to a baby she left behind -- and alone -- while she traveled out of state apparently had no idea she had been pregnant.

Lauren Renee McDonald, 19, gave birth to a girl June 10 in the bathroom of her trailer home in the 1200 block of West Third Street.

She left the infant, who police said was about three months premature, in the corner of her bedroom before leaving on an annual trip to West Virginia to visit an aunt.

Why is the baby in foster care? Did she not have any family??? Or is the whole family rejecting it like she did?

Her mother is deceased, her sister is off at college and she lives with her father, so the baby is in foster care out of town.

The trial has taken place and the mother had to sign over her parental rights. Also, the mother received 10 years probation and a fine. I do not know the amount of the fine. The child is now in the custody of the mother's aunt and uncle in Missouri. The mother has gone through a complete psychological change. She has been through counseling and is truly a changed person. She has realized her mistakes and is truly sorry for the things she did. Up until the child was taken away, she went and visited the infant on a regular basis religiously. She never missed a day and always stayed as long as she could. She's heart-broken over the fact that her daughter has been taken away, but she understands and accepts her punishment. I just hope everybody will understand that this young woman has truly changed. She has accepted her punishment and is on the road to recovery and living a regular life again.

At least she accepts responsibility for her actions. Some people never learn to do that. Good for her if she realizes the mistakes she has made and becomes a better person for it.

when this happened she stated she did not know she was pregnant and many people came down her hard about that. I just recently saw a complete documentary on women who went through full term pregnancies and did not know they were pregnant. It happens. Glad the girl has had counseling and is doing better. Equally glad the baby survived and is in capable hands.

Ya, I watched a show about that too and Know a girl that it happened to. All of these women were a little or alot over weight. This girl was not. She knew she was pregnant.

Daily Horoscope for December 22

Leo

If you ask someone to give you a hand today, don't be surprised if they make a mess of it. That's probably because their mind isn't on the job, but it might also be because your instructions aren't as clear as usual. So before you get angry, check that what you said made sense. Relations with someone older or more influential than you could also be blighted by confusion or doubt now.
