Saxonburg firemen's parade highlights carnival week

Full story: PittsburghLIVE.com

Their first parade and they lasted more than an hour. The bands performed, the pageant princesses waved and the fire trucks honked. But the children seemed most impressed by the candy distributed at Saxonburg 's Big Firemen's Parade. via PittsburghLIVE.com

I wish the borough would discontinue the carnival and find other ways to support the Fire department. It brings nothing but the scum of the earth to our beautiful community.Every time the scum bag carnival comes to town the crime rate soars. Those carnies are the scum bags of the earth.

What crime rate soared during the Saxonburg Carnival? Was there a murder, rape, or was a bank robbed? I think not.

The only crimes in Saxonburg are committed by the police department. A few cops are destroying this community. All they do is harass the fine citizens.

The Saxonburg Carnival is a tradition of the community. We need it and the Fire Department.

You said it "Justice"

And, a little opinionated Joe? Maybe a little prejudiced? And Saxonburg isn't exactly a "Beautiful Community". It's a cute little town, but a little far form beautiful.

I have to admit, when I was a teenager going to the carnival, we did a lot of partying at the carnival and hanging out with the wild crowd. I quit going to it when I became a more responsible adult. I guess I only associated "partying" with the carnival and by the time I became an adult, I did not want that association any more. Hmmm, was I wrong or is the carnival trouble like Joe suggested????

I think saxonburg is a great place! I agree about the scums coming out as soon as the carnival comes to the town of saxonburg. I go to the carnival so my kids can ride the rides that is the onlyn reason. I don't look forward to carnival week at all because you always see people yo0u haven't seen i a long time and, and personally they are the people that i would be happy if i never seen them again in life. But saxonburg needs it's fire dept. and the carnival funds themand the crime rate does not soar!!!! The cops though they are annoying and harrassing they do a good job of watching the burg that week.

Joe:
A little education for you. The only thing the boro has to do with the carnival or the Fire Company for that matter is letting us use the streets. The other means of supporting the Fire Company is by taxation but there are those of us that are fighting tooth and nail to keep that from happening.
As for the "carnies", these carnival workers are the cleanest most well-behaved individuals we have had put on a carnival in years. If there is an increase in crime during the carnival, I can assure you, it is not from the Carnival workers.
