Just read the coroner's report on the pilot's autopsy and I still have unanswered questions. I checked the FAA's database of certificated airmen right after the crash and was unable to find the name Ellison Summerfield listed. The possible reasons would be some sort of clerical error but the most common reason would be the absence of a current medical certificate. To be listed in the database a person needs a valid pilot's license and a current medical certificate. I'm sure the crash investigators have looked into this but have read nothing.
