Hello all. Hope everyone had a wonderful holiday. I am writing in regards to a horrible experience I am having with the only Arthritis/osteoporosis Doctor in Butler. I have been diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis and scleroderma since the age of 25. I was seeing a doctor in Pittsburgh but the monthly drive was too much since starting a family so I switched to Dr. Mitra here in Butler. For the fist year things went smoothly.I was prescribed wellbutrin to assist me in quiting smoking(prescribed by Dr. Mitra) The dosage schedule was normal, starting with 150mg daily for 2 weeks progressing to 150 mg two times daily. When time for a refill, one of the office personnel called me in a refill to my pharmacy. I picked up the refill and to my surprise the dosage had been change to 300mg two times a day. Being a registered nurse I knew that this had to be an error. I called the office to inquire about the dosage with the office personnel that had called it in. She insured me that this was the correct dosage. So i call my PCP to confirm that this was a safe dosage for me. I was told by my PCP that this dosage was dangerous and could easily send me into seizures. So again I called Dr Mitra's office. When I told them my PCP STRONGLY advised against me taking the new dosage, and that a dosage that large caries a major seizure risk I was given the response "Well maybe your PCP should be treating you then" I asked to speak to the office supervisor and was basically given the same response. So i just went back to the previously prescribe dose and waited until the next apt with the Doctor. At the apt Dr Mitra had to knowledge of the situation. He said he would get to the bottom of it and questioned the office worker in question. To my surprise he returned stating that I have never called in for a refill for Wellbutrin according to my medical files!! i had the pharmacist that processed the oder call and confirm that the order was for 300mg 2 times daily. I also provided insurance information proving the wellburtin refill was ordered by his office. Upon providing this information to the office supervisor i was told that I will no longer be a patient with the practice and i would have 2 weeks to get have medical records transfered for a cost of $20. So this is just a heads up to anyone considering this Doctor in treatment. iam currently consulting an attorney about the matter.

I take no responsibility for the above statement. I did not post it. I believe my account was tampered with and someone else posted it with malice intentions against myself and the mentioned subject. Again the above post was not posted by the user of the account paul316, nor is it the belief of the user paul316.
