So what are his options now? 1)He can plead guilty and go to jail. 2) He can proceed with the trial and put the victim and his family through an uneccesary ordeal. 3) He can find another stupid excuse for postponing the whole thing. 4) He could change lawyer and therefore be granted extension. Apart from this, I don't see any alternatives.

i pick number 1 for him

I would have to say Don doesn't have many choices, if he would choose # 2 and is then found guilty he should get the maximum sentence allowed by law
