A CLIFTON PARK BOY HAS DIED FROM A SUSPECTED CASE OF SWINE FLU. 7 YEAR OLD TREVOR LIN, A SECOND GRADER AT OKTE ELEMENTARY IN THE SHENENDEHOWA SCHOOL DISTRICT, DIED LAST WEEK FROM THE FLU.

My understanding is that this boy died from choking on a piece of candy. That's what other students in his class were told.

Something's definitely not right here with this story. If it was swine flu, then the school info was horribly wrong. If the kid choked on candy, then this story is totally false.

We'll know soon enough I hope.

Trevor did have the swine flu.
I have previously authorized the school several days ago to release this information in the interest of his beloved schoolmates.

Henry, I am so sorry for your loss. I cannot imagine what you and your family are going through. I am the 11pm news producer at WTEN in Albany. We just had another person in the Albany area die, most likely of H1N1. My entire family (myself, my husband, and our 2 children) also just had it. I think there is a lot of confusion about what happened to Trevor and the severity of this flu and how it should be treated.
